What's the Record for maintaining Battery SOH at 100%

Mines going for its 4th annual service so I'll ask for the soh.
Mg dealer who done the last 2 services were lucky to get it serviced in the same day.
I've reverted back to where I bought it from as the one a mile away don't fill me with confidence.

I've posted about my own measurements via Car Scanner before but I got the official reading today at my 4th annual service and it's still 100%.
Can anyone beat that?
Great result.
What did your ODB reading show?
My 2021 MG5 has done 71000 and is at 94%. Looks like age doesn't reduce the battery but milage does.

I posted my Car Scanner readings here:

The mileage is certainly low for the car's age so my results may be atypical but it does seem to destroy the theory that there may be an age element in the algorithm.

If yours is a SR model than this excellent result may be due to a therory that some were fitted with a ‘reject’ LR battery?

Well this is a strange one
Service and mot done today, upon collecting the car i asked the service person what the hv Soh was.
Quick as a flash she reads the service sheet and it's showing 94%, picture attached.
A little disheartened as car scanner shows 100%, but at least I know what it actually is.

Anyway i drove 10 miles home and looked at the service sheet.
94% soh at 87% soc.

Wtf. I've only got 60%soc so either, I used 27% of the battery in 10 miles at 26c or the technician misread 67% for 87%.
I know for certain it was never 87% as I only got back from holiday yesterday, when I did fire up the car I had the 80% soc that I left it with 15 days earlier.

Time will tell at the next service.
Fully charged it still shows 214 miles off charged.

Yeah, they had 3 others in a when I handed over the keys she put them in a clear folder.
There were 3 other folders with keys in.

CarScanner and the workshop diagnostic tool access the same information (the values on ours matched when it came back from the service)

Unless yours is one of the few suspected SR models equipped with a ‘reject’ LR pack..

I'll be taking it for it's service there next year, to keep up the warranty, and see what they come up with.
They also sent me a vehicle health check report on email, i have 7mm on my front brake pads.

The tech must have a different tape measure to mine, as it looks like there's a good 10-12 mm.

On a side note, it looks like the Brindley group are opening up Xpeng dealerships.
The one in wolverhampton where i took mine is opening a Xpeng dealership.
The Honda dealership has been reduced in floorspace and Xpeng has got it.
A quick google has confirmed this as well.

lol! It won't be 100%. 🤣

That said, I don't think there is any worry over degradation on the MG batteries at all.

Mine was at 88% and that was at 4th service. Will be due its 5th service in a couple thousand miles. I feel it’s dropped more. Rarely fast charged and charged to 80% with occasional balance charge. Pre facelift long range.

So you've done all your charging the so called, correct way. And it's possibly worse than, someone who's charged there EV however the hell they want to. For instance, fast charged regularly and 100%
every night (taxi drivers for example) etc.
Makes you wonder if it's no different, or even better, just to charge it any old way, you want to. And don't over think it. 🙂👍

That’s seems certainly on the low side, did you ever do a battery calibration charge (discharge to below 10%, let it settle for a bit, then AC charge to 100% in one go and then let it balance)?

Might be no harm to do a hard reset (12V disconnect) before you start the process.

Once fully charged, reset all trip counters and turn off AC, fans etc, then look the GOM, the further away from 250miles, the lower SoH..

Usually do a calibration charge every couple of months. Have never done a battery disconnect before hand.
Used to be able to make 2 days at work without charging in between. Range is low enough now that I have to charge every day (commute is over the beacons so only hitting 3.8/3.9m/kw)

Looks like one of the HV battery cells has lost capacity, unfortunately it’s the weakest cell that determines the performance of the whole pack.

Usually a faulty cell’s degradation will accelerate with use but I doubt it will go below the 70% mark in the next two years..
