I meant quick off the line for a basic family hatch (not a hot hatch or faster car) - obviously you need the XPower to compete with high performance machinery.

I've had much faster cars than the MG4 Trophy in the past, but I find it pointless these days with all the modern speed traps, plus if I really wanted some adrenaline, I'd go to a track day and hire a Caterham.

I think if I had problems feeling through the soles of thicker shoes then I would have my feet checked.
You may have type 2 diabetes coming on where the feeling in your feet and lower legs can be affected leading to pins and needles then eventually gout or worse (amputation).

I don't get why this is an issue for anyone who isn't a learner or a new driver. Adapt how much you press the throttle, it's not hard, and the car in normal mode is hardly a rocket ship.
To be read in tandem with #3. Wearing the same shoes for ages to drive the car and you get a muscle memory for the pedal position . Suddenly changing to brand new , unfamiliar pair and that along with the feel of the pedal, changes . I am totally aware of what's happening and am well able to adjust , as I have over a number of car/shoe combinations over the years . In fact , its a wonder I'm still here , in the 70,s Noddy Holders clod hoppers in conjunction with the immense power of a 1.3 Marina could also be problematic.(including a suddenly high clutch bite point) If Glam Rock makes a comeback with the lighter throttles of today then there could be more posts of a similar nature , if not, asking for advice , but pointing out that these issues could catch out the unwary, which in a way is road safety advice sub consciously delivered. Whilst me and Noddy have your attention may we be the first to wish everybody Merry Christmas and hope you all have fun. 😬

I've never had any issues modulating a cars accelerator. Be it with steel reinforced work boot, flimsy flip flops, clunky Nike Air force 1's, formal shoes etc. Even when adapting between longer/shorter, heavy/light sprung, high and low clutches should only take a couple of goes to master, so the feeble accelerator pedal should be of no issue.

And girls , how do you manage with some of the hideous things you put on your feet ?
Can't answer that - having an electronic engineering degree, I've never had the inclination to put hideous things on my feet 👠

No such problems in the Boxer
Now I need to "unsee" you having problems driving in your boxers... hope you meant Boxster :giggle:

Peugeot not Porsche, can't get a pallet of bricks in the back of a Boxster , although now I have mentioned that someone is going to find a photo proving me wrong. Boxer with ventilated seat, why , I should have thought of that. ❄️

Ah - phew!...

I tried to find a photo, but could only find a Boxster in a load of bricks :(

Try ECO mode (assuming you use Normal normally). It dulls the response on the accelerator AND the brake. You'll need to adapt to the latter, it can feel like the brakes are not working the first time you try it, but it just needs a firmer shove.

I presume the intent is to "preserve momentum" which is why the setting affects the brake at all.

If you put your foot down hard in ECO, it lets you have full power and it will warn you that you are no longer driving economically.

In Sport, both are hyper-sensitive and it is hard to drive smoothly in traffic no matter your footwear, but it is fun to get away at the lights before anyone else!

If you don't get along with it, then yes, I'd suggest some comfortable driving shoes.
I would suggest to try custom mode. You may want to use eco for the throttle to dampen the response, but leave the breaks in sports mode if you prefer that.
I use throttle in eco, brakes in normal and steering in sports mode.
