Hi everyone,
Has anyone found a wireless Apple CarPlay adapter that works reliably with the MG4 64kw Luxury 2024?
I’ve tried multiple devices so far, these are the last two :
  • HSTOP – inconsistent, frequent black screens after stops
  • Ottocast U2-Air Pro – set up correctly and updated, but still getting black screens after overnight or long stops, even though wired CarPlay works instantly every time
The Ottocast’s settings page works, so the unit is alive, but it regularly fails to re-initialise the CarPlay video stream when the car wakes. I’m returning this unit as it may simply be defective.

Before I reorder the same model, I’d like to know:
→ Which wireless CarPlay adapter works consistently in your MG4?
→ Does it reconnect reliably after long stops (e.g., overnight)?

Many thanks

I had a Quadlock that kept dropping the signal, so I switched to a Carlinkit 5.0 Mini, haven't had a single issue since. Connects quickly and reliably, and stays connected. Longest the car has been sitting idle was a few weeks ago when I was sick (so didn't go to work), the car sat for 4 days without even being unlocked, no issues when I got back in. I also like how small the dongle is, unobtrusive.

Many thanks for this info; I shall investigate ! :-)

I'm on Android Auto, but .... I use this one and have never had any trouble with it*, and it also says it is compatible with Car Play. (I set mine with a 30s start-up delay, so that the Info display has had time to boot).

* the one or two times I've had an issue it has been because of the car's head unit/info display, not the dongle. A hold down Home button reset of the screen resolves any such issues.

Yes the MG4 infotainment system is a bit slow to boot up so I suspect that that is the cause of my problems. I have aded a USB switch to my setup so that I only turn on the Ottocast AFTER we are fully booted up and READY to move off. Initial trips have been faultless so let us see.
