Would you buy an MG5 with 7 MOTs before it was 3 years old?

I've just been looking for MG EVs and I've found an MG5 registered June 2022 with multiple MOT entries on the gov.uk website starting from Oct 2022, five months from new registration. But there's more (below). How can this be? I thought maybe it was a taxi but they still have first test at 3 years, then 6 months over 5 years generally. 1 owner.

I'm curious!

You can MOT a car any time you want to. So if a dealer takes in a used car with 3 months left until the next MOT they can just MOT at the time of sale to give the new buyer 12 months cover. This is one potential reason to have more MOTs rather than how many years a car has needed an MOT.

Might also be it was planned to not be used or was not sold so the dealer kept renewing the MOT when they thought they had a sale (especially if it was advertised with a 12 month MOT)

I'd agree about the dealer wanting to sell with a full 12 months mot, but this one had 7 before the first was even due, it's a weird one.

Yes I understand but ... Its first normal MOT would have been due in June 2025 (three years since June 2022 first registration). It has had 6 MOTs in that three years "new" period when it didn't need any. All under one owner.

Erhhmmm….,, Something not quite right there ????.
A bit fishy tbh.
The entry dated the 2nd Nov 23 displaying a milage reading of 20,103.
Let’s just say for a brief minute, that this was incorrectly loaded to the system and should have read 10,103.
Then the other milage recordings COULD possibly make some small type of sense .
But the frequency of these test dates make absolutely no sense at all to me ?.
I think it maybe a good idea to walk away from this one.

I wonder if it's got an ongoing problem and it's been in and out of the dealer who MOT's it to prove its road worthy after each attempted fix.

If a dealer was selling it with 12 months MOT they wouldn't MOT it until the buyer has signed and paid for it.

Doubt it because if that was the case half the cars I owned when I was a bit younger would show up like that
