So yesterday i had to take my X power into the dealer with NO reverse and locked diff .

quite a interesting and upsetting problem really..

I think after the vibe issue and now this im not happy with this car anymore

So this has kinda happened a few times but yesterday it really screwed the pooch ..

what i wasnt aware of at the time was after charging months and months ago i would reset the hours back to zero etc etc and drive off once i got a few meters down the road i would accelerate off and for a few seconds id feel this small clunk from the car then nothing and off i would go ..

Then few months ago i had a big clunk and a warning light and message unable to select reverse gear and the car would not drive this happened randomly but always after charging the car , after a few turns of the gear select Knob no problem warning light would disappear off i go !!

The last time it happened i took it to the dealer the put it on there machine and nothing no error code all good ..

Yesterday it killed the car of sorts big clunk warning lights and diff locked which stayed on so i could drive forward no trouble BUT if i tried to reverse it would select but if i accelerated it would grind and clunk like the diff was locked which clearly it is ..

Luckily drove it to dealer and the saw the issue this time and it stayed on

They stuck it on the machine and error codes popped up ..

They have had it for a day so far still no fix or any idea what the problem is ..

Really funny though this only happens after a charge !!

Do you always charge to 100%? You then might loose regen due to battery being fully charged, maybe somehow these things are related?

Public charger 97% only

Kinda funny same charger and every time it happens 97% ..

Not everyone I charge there to 97% ..

But every time I’ve had the issue it’s been to 97% at that very charger!!

As far as I know, 97% is pretty much the maximum you can get at a DC rapid charger anyway ... the power delivery drops to such a low level at around that SoC that the charger decides enough is enough. :)

yes it is you can only trickle charge to 100%

still dont know what the problem is they have reached out to MG Australia to get some idea :(

So i still havent got my car been over a week now ..

On the plus side i cant get busted for speeding as ive been driving a loaner, basically hairdryer on 4 wheels the 2023 MG3 core ..

To be honest i like the older MG3 looks wise seriously if there was a AWD 250kw version i would buy that :P

So for the most part it's not a bad car, just really really slow !!

Funny though the bluetooth connection for radio/music and phone functions seem to work instantly and every time far better than my MG4 X power.. HUH?? :)
