Hope someone can help with this.

How to carry out a battery cell balance on a Zs ev long range 2022, how will I know it’s rebalancing the cells?

Thanks

Plug into your home charger overnight and leave it to charge to 100%. Once it's fully charged the BMS will sort out giving a bit more charge to the cells that need it to bring them up to the same level as the others (balanced).
Other than plugging it in you don't need to do anything.

Not at all. The high voltage battery pack is made up of many smaller batteries joined together. Some of these batteries from time To time get out of sync with the others. This is when they need to get equalised so that the pack can perform at it’s best. On the ZS you just fully charge on a fast or granny charger (must be AC) and leave the battery management system to do it’s thing. Once equalised the MG badge will go out. 🙂

So for the LR ZS EV it says 11.5 hours. That is from empty to full and includes balancing of the cells.

The actual balancing process doesn’t take too long. About 10 hours to charge the battery pack and 1.5 hours to balance the cells.

If you use DC rapid charges a lòt then it can take a few hours, if you just use AC type2 EVSE then less than that.
Once the car reaches 100% then the car only draws 300-500w which you can see on your IHD.
