It's the new MSP (Modular Scalable Platform) from SAIC, which will underpin all of their new cars going forward. Designed for RWD and AWD applications, its scalable design is suitable for wheelbases ranging from 2,650 to 3,100 mm, which allows designing various body styles for different segments on the same platform, varying from hatchback and notchback saloons to SUVs and vans.

No doubt it was inspired by the VW ID architecture, but it is bespoke to SAIC.

Interesting point made at the conference yesterday - by 2025, the MG4 will be the oldest product in the portfolio, as all models are due a relaunch using the new MSP method of build and electrification. Should be 7 or so models by then.

Do you have any further details on Lane Change Assist (LCA)? Some of the early reporting said it had up to Level 3 autonomous driving support. Now I don't believe for a second we'll get that here, but some self driving capability that is more sophisticated than the current ping pong MG Pilot would be great!

Also, any chance of light interior... or all black only?

I have no information about the LCA at this stage.
I believe we will be getting just dark interiors, but full specifications should be published within weeks
