MG ZS EV Shipping Updates

Does anyone know of any ships arriving in November? Tusker have now told me mid November for my white LRTC(ordered end of Jan). Apparently my dealer (Stoneacre) are receiving cars in September (my most recent date until this week) but not mine. Apparently they are pretty certain I'll get it in November. Dealer apparently doesn't know they have vehicles arriving until they are at sea. Sigh.

don't Tusker get their updates from the dealer (rather than directly from MG)?
If so how would they know mid November when the dealership knows nothing

Hi, November is too far away to be able to get anything for a ship name. I can only get 5 - 6 weeks advance notice for a ship that is going to load in Shanghai.

However, if you work it backwards -
It takes 2 - 3 weeks for the car to be shipped from the port to the dealership.
Therefore ship ETA Portbury mid October.
Takes the ship 1 month to get from China - ship leaves China mid September.
Takes 3 - 4 weeks for car to be transported to Shanghai / loaded onto ship.
Car should be on production line now.
Send email to MG UK and they will be able to look up your order number and advise that it is on the production line.
Alternatively visit the dealer and ask him to show you your car on the database. If it says TBA then ask what additional accessories you will be given for telling lies - maybe get a spare charging cable or a roof rack.

I’ve adopted an attitude of realism , I ordered January 6th and at this stage doubt I take delivery in 2022 ?

On the plus side, I’m paying 35400 ( euro ) for top spec so could easily sell for a profit

What alternative have I elsewhere, I don’t care for the look of the Nissan Aryia and waiting time on the Renault Megane is long too
I'd plan for the 12 month long haul, if it arrives.

Had a Trophy long range in red on order but missed the deadline of 1July
So was bit gutted about the new ones coming without a sunroof.
I've Been ringing various dealers every other day on the off chance theirs was a canceled order.
Yeah got lucky today and got TLR Red with sunroof be picking up 3rd Sept.

Great for you, but what's to bet they had others waiting on one of a similar spec...?

The dealership told Tusker mid November apparently. This date is my 5th date 🙄

Well, at some point in the (probably distant) future there's going to be a blue TLR (with pano roof) up for grabs. I'm done with all the ev bs and staying ice. At least I'll be able to drive a new car before I shuffle off this mortal coil!
Off to my dealer tomorrow and if still no news on the ZS its a no from me.

How much did you have to pay for that compared to original order

I was advised yesterday that I am 200th in line from my dealer awaiting a build so instead of giving me an ETA they did not want to give me a date at all. Arval the lease company have come back to me with alternatives and I have gone with an MG5 Exclusive LR and cancelled my ZS EV order, I would have waited but my car is due for repairs and do not want to keep throwing money at it.

I hope everyone else gets there order soon.

Congrats, when are you going to receive that?

Had a play with the data from the government for cars registered each quarter (3 months)

You can see the old model ZS in Blue - 84% Exclusive / 16% Excite.

You can also see the new model in red/yellow - 16% Trophy Connect / 68% Trophy / 16% SE.

The most ZS EV’s registered per quarter is 1800 (600 per month)

The average number of ZS EV’s per month is 400 per month.

In Q1 this year (Jan to Mar) there was 900 ZS EV’s registered.

Wonder how many ZS EV’s are arriving per month?

Not enough.....Still waiting for TCLR from last December.

Using the data in previous post we can see when the existing orders will be delivered/Registered.

We know that at the end of March there was 1232 facelift models registered.

We know that orders for ZS EV are in excess of 35,000 units - and this does not account for any orders for the non sunroof models.

The deliveries coming through at the moment are mainly stock orders made by dealers in November. There are still loads of cars outstanding from November/December deliveries.

I have projected how the backlog is going to be cleared with the following delivery rates:-

400 units per month ( The average to date with the chip shortage)

600 units per month ( The most ZS EV’s that have ever been delivered.

1200 units per month ( Well you can dream)

Using 400 per month - all the orders before Xmas will be completed by Q3 2025.

Using the best rate that have been produced of 600 per month the orders before Xmas will be completed by mid 2024, the orders up to March this year will be completed by the end of 2026.

So if we dream that 1200 ZS EV’s per month will be supplied then all orders before Xmas will be completed by April next year and the orders before March will be completed in the middle of 2024.

In order to satisfy all the orders from before March by March 2023 they need to average 2500 ZS EV’s per month.

When will the current ZS EV be updated. I am guessing before all the existing orders are delivered?

Fellow data-nerds rejoice! 🙌

How do you find out what ship your car is on. We touched lucky and the dealer found a new car and said expect it about the 25th September if it arrives in the uk on the 20th.
