Ship carrying my car docked on 19th sept , I was told it would take 2-3 weeks for delivery.. I just got a delivery date of 4 Oct.. free home delivery.. only ordered the car in Aug.

I joined this forum mainly to check what else is happening in terms of delivery windows. Looks like my dealer is on top of it.. Inorder LR trophy if that makes any difference to delivery timelines. I see ppl say Affinity scheme purchases , what is the discount wrt RRP ( 35k )

Absolutely no wonder.

I really did want an SUV, and i loved the ZS Gen 2 on a recent test drive weekend, but switched to an MG4 in August, which has now been delivered to the dealers ready for me on Wednesday.

But with in keeping with the OP of this being a shipping thread, I took note of the shipping ticket today that was on the passenger seat. …..

I ordered mine in December last year and not a sign of a delivery date as did people before me, but I read today that a guy has ordered in August this year and got a delivery date of October 4th. If that isn't rubbing your nose in it MG I don't know what is. Good luck to the guy who's car is coming next month but it's sod the rest of us.

Has anyone tried contacting the head of sales for MG UK via email or LinkedIn and ask them why people who have orders aren’t getting their cars but dealers are still selling them ( probably cancelled orders ) but they should still be going to people waiting ? You can also ask why they don’t answer the phone respond to online enquiries dealers can’t give updates and how they think w be rated in any customer satisfaction surveys ?

Yes, it’s way back in the thread.

Basically, the response was that it is down to the dealers how they ultimately handle the allocation of orders.

I pointed out that my dealer said MG would hit them with fines if they switched orders to waiting customers (as they had my exact car on the forecourt at one point) but that was the response they stuck to.
 
Yahoo, had a call from my dealer this evening, my blue Trophy LR ordered on 5th February. Which l had been told would be delivered (with a pinch of salt) November/December, is now ready to collect due to a cancellation. All things going well, I'll be picking it up on Friday, preferred the Saturday but the train strike has put paid to that one. Friday was meant to be a fishing trip, but I've caught myself an early whopper
 
Messaged the dealership today, (do this once a month) asked if there is any change from “on shortage” and I wasn’t holding my breath and it’s only been 9 months, to be told ”No and they have people waiting from September“ ( didn’t say what year) like that’s supposed to make me feel better? 🤬Is there anyone on here that’s been waiting that long? No didn’t think so, November yes, September don’t think so 🤔😒
 
Seems like my red MG4 Trophy ordered as soon as dealer was able has gone from ‘in first batch’ to ‘awaiting factory build’ but it took an email to MGUK to find out

I think those jumping ship from ZS to 4 orders were being ultra optimistic given what's gone before...

I fear a similar situation for those missing the first batch. We are dealing with the same company and dealers after all.
