MG4 Rumbling and vibration

Ask to drive their demo and experience it for yourself, to help verify your feelings.
Does the demo have the same tyres fitted as your car.
Are ALL the MG4’s running on the same make of tyres.
If not, ask them to flip all four wheels with another car, and then test drive.
That way you can put that option to one side.
Wouldn't they be able to check by jacking the vehicle and then checking for circularity ('runout') when they spin the tyres? That would be a very easy check for a technician to do.

If the car was faultless I’d have all-weather tyres on it by now.
It would be ironic and great if fitting new tyres sorted it, but I’m not willing to spend £500 to see.

Just been out in mine again and same rumble/vibration above 50mph.
Now the main screen has gone loopy. Bouncing between main screen and settings screen when swiped left. Wont stay stable still even after several resets. No radio again as last time but this time after reset it just bounces between screens.
Awaiting call back from Dealer sent email with all my faults listed

My car now has the following faults:

  • Oil Leak from transmission gearbox – new breather assembly required
  • Bulge in undertray to rectify
  • Drowsiness Alert system in fault mode.
  • Vibration/Rumble from car above speeds of 50 MPH (Felt through whole car and steering wheel.
  • Rattle in way of glove box area and footwell.
  • Infotainment screen not stable and unuseable
  • Climate control has to be up to 26 to get any warmth into car. If set to normal temps 22 Deg C. it’s COLD.

  • Rattle in way of glove box area and footwell.
See the post from @Jester27 (I think, or it might have been @jamesc83) - he had the rattle from the glovebox and fixed it with sticky-back felt.
Good on him.....however after paying £32k I expect dealer to sort this. Along with other faults before my 30 days!! Which would be 27th November.

I agree with you, but it's an easy fix to be fair.
And your car won't be sat with the dealer while they try diagnose it.
Cost me a tenner for 10 sheets of felt.
You only need about 1/4 of one sheet to stop the rattle.
But other bits are useful for sunglasses box and for lining the glovebox too.
Mine is quiet as a mouse now.

Have you put a screen protector on the infotainment screen?

Yeh I read your fix and have ordered some wine red felt for Glovebox and sunglass holder as at time no rattle!! However I will tell my dealer where problem is so they can report back to MG Tech.

You’ve reminded me I’ve got the heating issue too.
Exactly same as you, 26C on the readout for heat, under that is cold air.

Are you have the new breather fitted by Drive MG Darlington?

Er, no
Many of us have rumbling and vibration you can feel through the wheel and seat above 50mph.
I think you've misinterpreted what was said, although I can see why - adding a comma would make it clearer. ;)
That's great to hear
🤞🏻All should be good now then.
Just the software issues to resolve, for everyone
:)

Have to admit Vic Youngs been very good so far.
Car to be dropped off on Friday morning and have a courtesy car for me until the issues are resloved.
MG TECH need to get their fingers out and nip these problems in the bud very soon as the more prospective buyers read these forums they will give it a miss. Wishing I had waited longer now!!

I get a little bit of that too.
But I am rightly or wrongly assuming it's tyre flat spots with being sat on a boat for 8 weeks.
Happens to a lot of cars and should sort itself out if it is that
