Locked in my MG4 & unable to escape - Serious Safety Issue

I have the long range and this happened to me today. Terrifying experience. Fortunately not too far from home and hubby came with spare key.

It’s all I get back there is no fault so I started filming when any issues happened and also take screenshots of the forums issues as this is not a isolated issue with the faults happening on near all mg4s

There is a recall out which all the dealers are supposed to have received.
Your dealer has installed the software update to stop this happening hasn't he?

How can I prove this happened though? I really have no confidence in this car now.

Might not have been done then unless your car has been back to the dealer after 14/12.

They should be able to plug in their diagnostic software which will show there has been a problem with the key.

I can understand that and if the update hadn't come out I think several of us would've cancelled our orders before even receiving the car.
The only thing I can say is that I don't think it has happened to anyone who has had the update and I don't think it has happened to the same car twice.

Just waiting now for someone to prove me wrong

Only issue I have to press is a missing undertray, as MG did the delete

None yet I've emailed them yesterday saying that the electrics at the rear are getting wet and MG have confirmed they shouldn't be wet

If there was a 3rd party one I'd even consider buying it in the meantime just as a temp measure

Can someone post the firmware version that has this fix. We've just picked up our new Trophy MG4 (23rd Dec) but I don't know whether the dealer applied latest SW patches before release. I can bring up the software versions on the infotainment screen - if someone can tell us what version number to look for, we can check. Cheers, and Happy Christmas!

Unfortunately we don't see the version number for the individual modules, without the secret/service menu, so can't see this without the service menu.

The fix was made available in mid Dec, hence your car didn't get this before delivery. Not much consolation now but the reason it wasn't applied prior to delivery.

Cheer, yep. Have been in there but don't have any of the relevant updates for this myself. Also not sure Which module would be relevant for this issue myself.

That is not reassuring. I was locked in mine today - a truly terrifying experience. Only had the car since 1/12, i wonder if the dealer would accept a return and refund me?
