MG ZS EV Shipping Updates

Good shopping around done there :) With regards to the tow is the dealer fitting that? I was told by my dealer they could not order or do this.
Yes, the shop that has had the car to "prepare" it for delivery was supposed to do it. From what i have been able to gather they have a central workshop, where all cars for Denmark is being delivered to be prepared, and the extra's fitted.

Hi , im new here . we've ordered an MG ZS EV in August does anyone know any news of cars getting shipped in , The Garage keeps saying no word ? feel like we are getting mucked about . Said it would be middle September now saying possibly end of September . Thank you
I ordered a ZS trophy long range begin of feb for April delivery in black, got a call mid feb and told if I have the same model in silver I could have it in March,I picked the car up on the 22nd,very lucky, very happy

Just had a random call from Vanarama (mine is a lease order)

They have contacted their dealer to check for an update and they say they haven't heard anything from MG about a remotely accurate delivery date, etc (September is my estimated after being delayed from mid-April). Vanarama have told them they require an update from them/MG regarding a date for delivery for the car by the end of the month because 'it's not right that I have to go for weeks or months without even an update.
Whilst I totally agree with what Vanarama are saying, it's probably just them trying to keep me on side. Don't think they can actually do anything if MG decide not to reply to them.

Also - what's this tracker everyone keeps talking about? is there a link to this?

Been to dealership today got some answers there are 3 vessels coming in this month with mg on but not a full ship full will be other makes on it.
Showed me that my car is due 8th May so its been built and on a ship. Why everyone as waited so long is mg dealers were told to order stock vechicle as well as customer built cars.
The problem with that is there are 45000 mg in the system and obviously not all are customer built cars.
So mg are building cars thinking they are all for customers. My dealer said even thought mg told them to order stock at the time they.
There are no problems with transporter to portbury dock mg are using a new company who only have 20 transporters so this company is hiring other companies to help them.
Hope this is any help to anyone waiting . Hopefully fingers crossed not long to wait.

Just came across this article, interesting:-

All dealers are saying September

All cars state September spoke to dealer today as mine was saying September but know its been built and on a ship you get a better estimated date which mine is know 8th may. Its true dealers don't know until the date changes on the system. Example : system says 1st September next day 2nd September and so on but if your car gets built and on a ship date will change that's the only way dealers know. My dealers showed my car on the system today. All others cars were saying September hope you can understand what I'm saying.

It certainly is concerning.

I phoned my dealership today and they didn't have any updates for me. I can't fault the dealership, it isn't their fault, but I still have no update. I got the impression that they know I might be getting itchy feet as they were keen to highlight how good my deal was etc and kept thanking me for my patience.

I agree not dealers fault like my dealer said I could cancel if I wanted to but a couple of years ago would never have said that to me but other dealers plus himself know they can sell any new cars that come in. Aleast that's not a lie

Do you guys know what the differences are in stock and production between the UK and EU countries? Since all this information is based on UK deliveries and Im from Belgium its hard to gauge if I should expect the same delay.

This is the email I had from my dealership today. No real news unfortunately.

Hi

Just a quick email to fill you in the the picture that we now have with MG deliveries going forward. Firstly I would like to apologise for the delay with your new vehicle. We have finally had confirmation from MG with regards to why there has been such a delay and their reasoning.

Getting the car industry back up and running after the pandemic has been extremely challenging for MG and all other manufacturers. Especially as China operates a Zero tolerance to Covid and are happy to shut down whole cities, which doesn't help with manufacturing, coupled with a shortage of chips and there is a perfect storm which has caused these delays. You have probably seen on the news that Shanghai is currently in lockdown.

We have also been told by MG that there is a certain chip that is in the DAB radio that they are finding very hard to source and this is causing the majority of delays for the MG's coming into the UK as they have to have a DAB radio by law. MG have found a work around solution of retro-fitting the DAB radio at UK port so they will now start shipping cars again.

We have also been told that there will be 7500 cars landing in the next few months. Unfortunately they haven't told me who these cars are assigned to.

So apologies again for the delay, as soon as I have details from MG that your car is shipping I will let you know. I can then pin point a bit more of an accurate date. But I am afraid that is all the information I have at the moment.

Please feel free to ask me any questions, I will endevour to answer them.

Kind Regards

Right now, here in Denmark they claim 4-6 weeks delivery time on cars "in stock"

In Stock seems to mean "Has been confirmed for delivery, probably already onboard a ferry on it's way here" (Mine was ordered on a Thursday, and the seller said the ship with the car was to arrive on sunday in the same week)

Right now they have the high trim level cars "in stock" in white, red and black

But it seems that for every country there are different trim options.

Here we only have 2 trims...which seems to correspond to the lowest spec LR and the Trophy connect respectively.

It seems that even the basic spec car in the UK, will have the 360 camera, where here, only the top spec has it, and in some countries i have seen mention of no heated seats on the cheap version, here the heated seats are on all variants.

So it seems that there are more than 2 specs, and in some countries some stuff not on our basic trim, is on the basic one.

The top spec has everything and the lower spec one is missing

Rain sensor
Blind Spot monitor
Rear traffic alert.
No 360 camera, only reversing camera
Wing mirrors will not fold
Sunroof
4 speakers instead of 6
Wireless phone charger pad
Support for APP
Voice control
Weather forecast
Navigation with real time traffic (Due to no data connection)
Map pocket on the back of the front seats
No "leather" seats, only fabric
Rear seat with central armrest

[...] Confirmation of £500 price increase in April and possibly further increases in the summer due to increased component and shipping costs. [...]
I don't know that this warrants it's own thread, but looks like MG UK updated the prices on their site.

SE SR: £28,995 increased to £29,245 (£27,745 inc PiCG)
Trophy SR: £31,495 no increase (£29,995 inc PiCG)
Trophy Connect SR: £31,995 no increase (£30,495 inc PiCG)

SE LR: £30,995 increased to £31,495 (£29,995 inc PiCG)
Trophy LR: £33,495 increased to £33,995
Trophy Connect LR: £33,995 increased to £34,495

Best I can tell, all bar 2 have had a price bump. Happy for someone to correct any figures if I've fluffed them up somewhere.

Got a call from my dealer today that they expect delivery at the start of May, LR Trophy in Black. Ordered mid Feb, original estimated date for delivery was July. Not gonna hold my breath but cautiously optimistic.
Was yours a fresh order or a converted dealer stock order.

As I was quoted July but mine was a converted dealer order so maybe same could happen to me but I'm still expecting July at the earliest

Here in the UK, we have 3 trims…SE, Trophy and Trophy connect…the SE is bottom of the range, no leather seats, no heated seat, no sunroof, no rain sensors, no blind spot, 4 speakers, not fold wing mirrors, really everything you’ve said…The Trophy has everything above, not voice recognition or the weather forecast…the top of the range comes with voice control and weather updates and live sat nav, Amazon music…not really worth another £500 on the price for things you could do on your phone…hope this helps..
