Just checked my order form(dated 8/12/21) and it clearly shows -£2500 electric vehicle government scheme on the invoice. If I were you I would check my paperwork.

My order was placed beginning of Jan. In Jan Grant was £1000 if under £32K. LR Trophy was over £32K.

Upon checking with the relevant team, we can see this order is currently on shortage awaiting factory build, until production has been confirmed we cannot confirm an exact arrival date. We understand your frustration and we would like to let you know that there has been a high demand on the model and the delivery lead time set initially for all vehicle orders was around 4 months, however, this would be subject to change, due to a number of factors considered, ie. logistic challenge, global chip issue, current order queue, etc. Although all is facing the same challenge in this industry, some manufacturers may even have much longer waiting time. As a brand, MG endeavours to deliver all customer orders as early as possible and we are doing the best we can. A number of actions have been taken to enable us to prioritise the customer orders, such as petrol car sold orders only, dealer stock order restrictions, etc. The delivery ETA is subject to change, which could be even sooner once the production has commenced. MG fulfils the customer order according to the order date, as your order was placed in December, we believe it is not long for your order to be fulfilled. We would advise you to continue to liaise with your purchasing dealer for any upcoming delivery updates. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused and your patience is much appreciated. I think the grant finished 15th or 16th December, I know this because I ordered the 17th…I’ve always been lucky that way…it’s a wonder I don’t win the lotto every week…

Are you sure? I ordered my SR car in February, and I am positive the grant was £1500. (Can’t be bothered to get the paperwork from the filing cabinet…….)

Spoke with Octopus today... They basically said not to hold fingers for September delivery and that most likely it will be after September! Very disappointing.

Seriously when did you order, I ordered 21/11/21. I emailed today and waiting a response from Octopus, have asked what dealer they went through

Yes - am sure LR Trophy was £33,495 plus £545 for metallic paint.

All models of SR were under £32K so grant was applicable.

LR SE model was £30,995 plus paint so grant was applicable.

Could have been £1500 grant.

Next ships in with potential MGs aboard:

• Adriatic Highway - due 25th June
• Cape Town Highway - due 30th June
• Galveston Highway - due 11th July
• Viking Adventure - due 27th July - she hasn't stopped in Shanghai yet (and may not!) - but this is a usual MG delivery vessel, so one to keep an eye on over the next week to see where she goes after her visit to Japan.

Cape Town Highway is already out of port, was only there a few hours, cant imagine it unloaded much

Hasn't Ireland got any decent sized ports for a vehicle carrier? Or is it mainly horse & carts still

Hi all new to the thread

I spoke to my dealer today down in the west Midlands and was straight on the phone to the owner who advised me the following

. Mg as of this week are going through all the stock orders and these will be cancelled (I assume that its now only going to be built to order)

. Mine also shows as a tba ordered 14th April SR trophy silver but has advised that some cars are allready at the ports and mg teams are been sent over to fit the remaining parts and testing the cars I assume that's because they don't want half built cars sitting around perhaps I can only believe that it's minor things needing doing.

. My garage has confirmed they will build the cars to spec when sold to us as long as was ordered before July

. They are optimistic of a September delivery but can not promise this I was originally quoted 4-6 months

. The only hope is Is that they are finding more of the short range cars are coming threw and have only had 2 long range ones come in this year.

Fingers crossed that we will start to see a good few come by in the coming months

Don't shoot the messenger but that's what I've been advised and not a lot I can really do would like to see it this year due to lease ending and arranging all fitting for the charger and heavily investing in getting on the ev band wagon

Saying it finished in December may be what's confusing things. A standard range Trophy was £31,495 OTR, so you're right - it would've qualified for £1.5k off.

In December 2021 the PiCG didn't finish - it reduced from £2.5k applicable up to a £35k purchase threshold, down to £1.5k up to a £32k purchase threshold. June 2022 the car grant scheme was closed. At least that's what I recall...?

Clearly not by the sounds of things unless there doing it dealer at a time. My main call today to them was to say what I heard and regarding the Jan 2023 quotes that have been posted on here but again dealers remain confident it won't go that far as the saleslady that sold me the car said they don't get paid untill it's here so will be a diaster for dealers all over the country if that's the case and could cause job loses in my eyes

I ordered in Jan a pre-ordered car so practically November. Basically they said that the dealer does not get any updates from mg and the chances they will have the cars on September are slim...

TBH, the salary sacrifice bik value is guaranteed by the government to 4/25 so I think I'll try to order privately soon and take whichever comes first. I don't really want to pay their prices without the government tax benefit... Though at this stage I'm not sure if they will ever get the car.

That sucks, I spoke to Octo today aswell and got told they still expect my 1st September quoted date to be accurate but I seriously have my doubts (Silver LR connect ordered end of March)

Just in case anyone is interested when picking our car up yesterday, for those who like to track the ships... Some of the latest have been diverted to Tilbury and not Portbury. Thought that might be of use to someone.
Also, to give you an idea of the scale of orders, our local delay (Stoneacre Derby) normally sells 400 new cars a year, and so far they have over 800 on order. The dealer showed me the list on his computer, it's unbelievable and I am afraid to say they really have no idea when and where a car will show up. He did state that when MG says it's at sea, it is given a date which actually assumes that the ship will get into issues with weather and blockages and this is why sometimes they turn up out of the blue.
