Long runs without charging

..... ironically (sorry I didn't get a photo), but travelled 230 miles from home to my eldery mothers house (in the lake district), usually it takes 4 hrs, but on Tues 27th it took 7 hrs incl. charging (major traffic + very wet weather - yes I did pass those tesla people at westmorland - which made the major newspapers , queuing on the slow lane - I got 4.1 miles / KWh - and was so happy that I managed to get the granny charger once "home" - I tried penrith (ABB - Gridserve - 10 car Queue) just incase (I found the MFG 8 charger stations as the go to locations to charge)

I travelled to and from Manchester yesterday, which is a 350 mile round trip for me. On the outbound journey I averaged 3.8 mpkWh and on the return leg I managed 3.1 mpkWh. Outbound journey was at around 9C and dry, return journey was windy, raining and 12C. Did both legs with AC/heater on in eco mode (drive mode and heating).

I am now fairly sure that our ZS EV Trophy LR is slightly more efficient than the MG4 having done the same journey in both cars on multiple occasions. I'm not unhappy with the efficiency of the MG4 but I am a little puzzled that a compact SUV EV converted from an ICE model can be more efficient than a purpose-built EV. I guess it has got be down to the ZS having gone through a level of optimisation whereas the MG4 is brand new. Maybe future MG4 updates and tuning will improve efficiency.

I travelled from grimsby up to Edinburgh 280 miles 3 adults full luggage on wed . Back on Thursday 2 adults one small bag. Speed limits most of the way heating on normal, Spotify etc. also averaged 3.8mpkwh 2 stops each way for a charge and coffee. We did London and Brighton runs in the previous ev, runs to Manchester, Stansted etc. People still say they won’t get an ev because they can’t go far !!!

Thought I'd share my 110 mile run to Heathrow and back today. Temperature was below 10 degrees. Averaged 3.8 miles per kWh. Happy with that. Car performed brilliantly.

Anyone else got some long run figures?

I have had my Trophy since October. I mainly drive 100 mile to work each week on A roads but have travelled 3 long distances since of over 200 miles, doing 70mph. My overall kWh since October is 3.7 Doing the same mileage and driving the same with my old VW ID.3 I was getting 3.9kWh so very similar. I am happy with this Eco range. Charging @home, its costing me just over 2p a mile, at a cost of 8.5p per kW.

10c is the biggy. Once temp lifts above this it makes such a difference. Shame that those in Scotland never see it. I’ll get my tin hat.
This is exactly right. Being in Scotland the temp has been less than 5c most of the time so struggling to get anywhere near to 3 mls/kWh at any time whilst driving in a normal manner.

The last few days in my area we’ve hit the dizzy heights of 6-8c and I’m suddenly managing to touch 3 mls/kWh driving fairly normal and progressively. I think my average yesterday on a long journey, mainly motorway was 2.8. So the temp has a lot to do with it. Maybe in the milder weather in the summer I might get into the 3s average.

Drove from south Wales to Stuttgart back in the summer all on motorways and the Autoban averaged 4.2m/kwh was hot though
