MG4 Carplay RHD Setting?

A video would be useful to show (for example) that pressing the left centre button does indeed enable control of the right side of the driver screen (whereas it should be the right centre button), and that the right centre button sets ACC on/off (whereas it should be the left centre button). Are the left/right joysticks also swapped?

I'm unaware of any config settings that could change how the buttons function ... even the left hand drive models have the controls the same way round as the RHD models.

Thanks that makes sense, I'll take a look when the wife gets home later.

If it's any help, my Trophy was in the shop a while back for a issue with the charge cable not releasing and they updated the BCM software. Since then, when I press the left star button to change the drive mode, the heating controls, which should be on the right star button, come up on the center display (the other buttons all do still work as expected).

Thanks rogerl, I'll take a look later and report back here.

have you tried changing the settings under vehicle > convenience

It certainly is. There is no setting for it - Apple dictate the way it works. End user has no options
On my Kia Stonic I can choose. And CarPlay will behave accordingly.
The end user does have a choice, but the choice must be made available through the car’s infotainment system. With Android Auto I suppose they took control of this setting and exposed it via the OS directly.
Apple CarPlay let’s the infotainment decide whether it makes sense to offer such option.

If Android Auto allows the user to choose separately from the infotainment system used, what if the infotainment decides to ignore it? Is the user really in control?

AA offers Left, Right, and Default (set by the car) under the option Driver seat location. Mine is set to Right and it always puts the menu on the RHS.

That still confirms my point though, although perhaps I didn’t word it well. Apple doesn’t give an option for the user to choose. Your Kia gives you the option, not the Apple device.

I can’t believe this is still an issue. When I test drove the car the Apple CarPlay menu was on the left. When I went to collect it to take it home it had moved to the right. As of yesterday it’s now showing back on the left again!
