MG ZS EV Shipping Updates

Well I just had an update from my dealer

All the estimated dates on their orders have been removed. None of their orders have dates. Which matches what others have been told.

I don’t actually think my dealer has had 1 MG to sell yet and don’t think they’re getting any in the June batch either.
 
I've just had this reply from JustEV's to an email I sent for an update:


"Many thanks for your email. Production is still challenging for all manufacturers at the moment so delays are still the case. The positive news I can offer is that our very early orders back in Oct/Nov 2021 are due in towards the end of this month. Looking at your order in January this year we are anticipating yours to be in the UK towards the end of September 2022.
I thank you for your patience and understanding so far, as soon as I have further news of your Blue MG ZS Trophy, I will let you know."

I emailed back to say that colour was not important, and they will let me know if they get any cancelled orders etc.
Interesting, I also placed an order for a LR Trophy in January so I'm guessing mine will also be anticipated to be in for the end of September.

Yeah that's not new.

If you read back there are plenty like me that ordered back in January and early that were given September.

They can't even give dates now.

So don't expect anything in September either!
 
Has anyone who ordered through Vanarama heard anything concrete about delivery dates? Ordered back in Novemeber - last I heard from Septemeber delivery!
 
I have to spoken to my dealer (Bulldog, Twyford). I ordered a ZS SE LR in January. Original delivery May then June then August.

Now, there is no delivery date on the system - TBA.
Yep, I think that's basically it now for anyone's that isn't on a boat.

They are basically telling anyone waiting they have no idea, and have so much demand they can afford to keep people on a list with no information about when or if it will ever arrive.
 
Phoned my dealer up earlier (they never reply to emails), admittedly only placed on 1st May so barely waited at all compared to some of you, however they've no date, having a guess at the end of the year.

I wouldn't be surprised if they end up cancelling a large number of orders, with their costs increasing and GBP plummeting, if they don't fulfil quickly they may end up unprofitable

Can see me buying a second hand petrol and ignoring the idea of an EV altogether - not because I've waited ages, but because I'm becoming unconvinced they'll ever be fulfilled (and I'd be really annoyed to wait for ages for nothing!)
 
Yep I feel the same I only ordered May 10th to purchase from a leesing company but I've got a feeling its not coming for September especially for the price ime paying I live in hope for now 🙄

Just wondered, booked in January with octopus via salary sacrifice. Octopus back then told me they ordered my car in November.... Has anyone got clear date/order number from octopus?

Ordered mine also in January so fingers crossed might get it in September also (MG Garage). Monument silver Trophy connect. Once I do get my hands on her will upload a photograph as some people are asking to upload.
 
Response from MG UK below. I have got the standard response. They have not answered any of the questions asked. I even told them that my dealer has no information and the response is to talk to my dealer.

Based on the information you have provided us with, it seems your vehicle order is currently on shortage awaiting factory build, until production has been confirmed we cannot confirm an exact arrival date.

We understand your frustration and we would like to let you know that there has been a high demand on the model and the delivery lead time set initially for all vehicle orders was around 4 months, however, this would be subject to change, due to a number of factors considered, ie. logistic challenge, global chip issue, current order queue, etc. You can continue to liaise with your MG dealer for any updates as the information is transparent across the dealer network.

Your feedback is much appreciated. It is best for you to discuss with your purchasing MG dealer any alternative options. If your MG dealership has any issues with their customers' vehicle orders, they can speak with the regional manager for a solution.

We're truly sorry for any disappointment this has caused.

I ordered from them in November, but other than Vanarama touching base still no idea when the car will arrive. I contacted the dealership Vanarama have used (Greenhous Shrewsbury) but they weren't very helpful and said it could be next year. I asked for the 10 digit number for my order so that I could contact MG direct. Just had an email back from MG saying the order was placed Jan, and the standard reply others have reported. Phoned dealership today but salesman dealing with this was not available so have emailed to clarify when my order was placed. Will wait to hear back from them. MG and there dealership network appear second rate. Very surprised at Greenhous because that (from internet browsing) does appear to arrange a lot of fleet sales business. Will let you know what they come back with.

It’s very depressing, they’ve got £500 of my money sitting in their bank & no sign of my car ever arriving. (Blue LR Trophy Connect - ordered Dec 21)
 
I got told yesterday by Jordan at Baylis MG in Gloucester that all ZS EV LR orders they have waiting (that includes ones ordered from November) have all been put back again to 2023. He said the SRs are going to slowly (very slowly) drip feed through, but if you want a LR then forget getting it this year.
After reading this I called Baylis Gloucester today. Although Jordan is not my sales rep he was the person that answered the phone. I asked if it was true that he had said that all LR orders are now being put back to 2023? he asked my name and then went away and came back and said “No yours is still showing as end of Aug early sept” my order was 7 Jan (LR SE) I’m wondering if they just have a sheet and wrote on it what they’ve told each customer and then refer to it and repeat the same response on every enquiry 😂😂
 
This afternoon spoke to my dealer. I have stated that a delivery date of TBA is not acceptable, especially when MG UK are supplying cars to some dealers for stock and to customers who have not been waiting as long as many customers - some 2 months more than myself. My dealer (at my request) pretended to be a buyer looking to buy a car from other dealers on the MG Website that are advertising immediate availability. He found two cars (LR) very quickly which has not pleased him and he is now trying to get hold of the regional manager at MG UK.

I then spoke to Motability about the poor customer service from MG UK. Told them all about my experience and other people on this Forum - they were shocked. They have contacted their account manager for MG and are requested a meeting with MG UK. Apparently Motability have many MG cars on order via many dealers.

Sent a response to the email I received from MG UK (copy posted on here at 12:28 today) told them that they have not answered a single question that I asked. Also told them that suggesting that I speak to my dealer was a total waste of time because they have given them any information to give to me. All they have done is change all the delivery dates to TBA without any reasoning. It would be amazing if they repeat the standard response given earlier today?

Only good thing that happened today is I got my charging point installed by BP Pulse. The LEDs on the unit light up my driveway and look really pretty which is all it is useful for because I have no car to plug it into…..

Let’s see what tomorrow brings.

If he’d have done the same for SR cars there are also dealers out there with them.

I’m glad it’s come to their attention. A dealer complaining to MG might carry a bit more weight than us pesants that are measly the customer…

Very interested in this message as I too ordered a Blue Trophy LR from Just EV's in Jan! 👍 🤞
 
MG let slip that a shipment is due in Portbury today (14th June)!
Does anybody know which ship that is?
I've had a look at bristolport.co.uk but can't work out which ships are RoRo car transporters.
How do you decipher what a ship is carrying from that web page?
