    OBD2 MG5 PFL LR

I just tried eZS app and it works quickly and perfectly for me! MG5 PFL LR, 2021, with Nexas dongle, I can now see the SOH of 98.48% which isn't bad for 16,000 miles. Thanks for the tip! Peter

    OBD2 MG5 PFL LR

The best I can get is setting the profile to Roewe eRX5 in Car Scanner, which connects and gives some data, but sadly not the SOH or anything else useful - they come out as zero or blank.

    OBD2 MG5 PFL LR

Can anyone help? Bought a NEXAS OBD2 dongle, and using Car Scanner it connects to the dongle ok but it keeps saying can't connect to the car ECU. It goes round trying every protocol and failing. Maybe I have the wrong profile? I set it to MG5 2021-22. See screenshot. Thanks P

    Energy consumption accuracy

Hi all I've noticed a discrepancy on my MG5 PFL between the consumption reported on the dashboard and the one I calculated using the state of charge percentage before and after a trip. For example yesterday for a 70 mile trip the car reported a consumption of 4.0miles/kWh. However looking at the...

Ohme home pro charger & Pre FL MG5

I have an Ohme Pro and pre FL MG5, using Ovo charge anytime tariff. You can set the percentage to add using the Ohme itself or the app provided and it works fine. You just have to calculate the percentage to add yourself instead of the tech doing it for you.

    Bonnet (app)

Hi all Just tried the Bonnet app for my recent long journey to North Yorkshire (520 miles round trip). I am loving the app as it guides you step by step through the process (i.e. when to plug in the charge), and gives you an update on the state of charge (on some chargers). Also there is a...

    MG5 pre FL Battery Heating

Has anyone tried battery preheating on pre-FL MG5 LR? I am about to go on a long journey next weekend, and I wondered if it would make my charge stops quicker, especially after all the media about dying Teslas in the USA, who couldn't charge in the extreme weather. I see there is an option under...

    Heating uses loads of power

Probably you all know this but I noticed that using the heating set to 22 deg uses 10A from the battery, on a cold day (6 deg). That equates to 4kW of power being drawn from the battery, which totally accounts for my consumption in winter dropping to 3miles/kWh from 4miles/kWh. In summer, at...

    A Simple Question......

I have a pre-facelift MG5 with OVO charge anytime and an Ohme charger. You can easily set an additional percent or miles to add using the app or on the charger itself. Works great, and 2p a mile! Only caveat you can't charge to a set percentage as others have said the car is dumb. You have to...

    Servicing

Now I can't find the service book! Does it fit in the wallet next to the owners manual, cos all I have is a couple of addenda to the owners manual. I bought it used from a dealer, so I presumed everything would be in order, so I have contacted them. update: they don't have service books, and it...

    Servicing

Do I wait for the car to tell me the service is required, or is there a max interval to keep the warranty going? My MG5 is coming up to two years in December, and I've had it 6 months

    First trip Croydon to Hull

I am not sure of the reason for the constant bad press electric cars get - my experience is good: Very pleased with my first long trip to Hull from Croydon, and back, in MG mk1 LR. 500 miles covered in total. Two rapid charges at Newark (Osprey) and Cambridge services (Ionity) - both very rapid...

How satisfied are you with your MG EV?

Bought MG5 LR 2021 recently, very pleased with it so far. 1. Range even on motorways is good, if you drive 60-65mph, approx 245 miles 2. Round town even better, up to 280 miles 3. Car drives well, smooth, fast and is simple to use with Android Auto. 4. Ohme charger works seamlessly, and gives...
