How thick is the bottom plate protecting battery?

I keep reading almost every day about how EV's get thrown into a junkyard due to some tiny dent in the battery pack enclosure. The roads are not in very good condition here and in winter snow is constantly pushing against the bottom of car. Can anyone give an assessment on how well the bottom of...

Preventing air flow to battery in cold weather

It's -30°C this morning and expected to drop even lower towards the end of the week. Yesterday when driving home at -24°C temperature, in the "Energy Consumption" screen the consumption was around 35kWh - 40kWh per 100km at all times. With ICE there's this trick to install a cardboard in front...

    Range estimation at -30 celsius?

At worst the temperature can drop below -30 celsius here in Finland during winter. Is there any data on what kind of range (or problems) is to be expected at that low temp? It seems most cars here in Europe are sold in England where it never gets that cold.

    Efficiency calculation

Is the efficiency value being displayed calculated using velocity, acceleration/deceleration or are there actual sensors that measure power consumption and regeneration? Sometimes it feels like the car is creating energy out of thin air during the regeneration phase when going downhill after a...

Daily charging (3.3kWh) at work below freezing temperature

I charge my MG4 SE daily at work @ 3.3kW (I don't have a charging station at home). It is getting colder every day and temperatures are already below freezing. Does the EV LFP battery warm up enough during the drive to work (approx. 20mls/12km) or should I always use "Intelligent Battery...

Poor efficiency (or is it just the cold?)

Hi all, Brand new MG4 SR owner here. As an EV newbie I'd like to know if its normal to have this low efficiency at this time of year. Below is a typical shot of my work trip that is about 12 miles, the average speed being 39mls/h with the energy consumption of 2.6mls/kWh. It's been quite...
