    Gen 1 ZS & Zappi

It’s a latest gen Zappi with built in hub, so the CTs are wired directly to it.

Should also add that it charged fine using the granny charger. After looking back on the Myenergi forums there was a note about possible problems when Powerline adaptors are also in use. I have 3 of these in use, so switched them all off. Hey Presto, the car charged!!! The Powerlines have...

    Gen 1 ZS & Zappi

Hi all, Anyone having problems with a Gen 1 ZS and Zappi charger? I've been using ours regularly with no problems until last week. I've started to leave the car plugged in overnight with the Zappi set to Eco+ mode in order to take advantage of early morning sun from our PV panels. It's now...

    Fully Charged Show Farnborough

“Harrogate is much nicer than Farnborough... :)” I agree as I’m originally from Harrogate, but have lived down south for 30+ years. However the traffic can be just as bad as down here, especially on the Wetherby Road where the show site is!!! 🚘🚘🚘🚘🚘🚘

    Fully Charged Show Farnborough

Yes, I was there yesterday. As you say, the parking was in a grass field - not sure what state that’ll be in if it rains again. However I thought the actual parking process was so much easier than the last couple of years where we’ve queued for over an hour to get into the site. Anticipating the...

    Swapping a home charge point

Our son has a Rolec charge point at his home which is about 6 years old and becoming a bit intermittent. I have just had solar panels fitted which involved having my home charger replaced by a Zappi. I have given him our old PodPoint Solo which is only about 3 years old. A local electrician...

    MG ZS EV First MOT

I appreciate the doubts about SOH. Having read about it on here, I challenged the garage as to whether it was really 100% or had they just made it up. They told me it was genuine, but the car had been moved out of the workshop and as they were closing up, did not offer to hook the car up again...

    MG ZS EV First MOT

Hard to believe it’s 3 years since I bought my Gen 1 ZS. After 15,000 miles, yesterday was MOT day and, of course, it sailed through with no problems or advisories. They said the brake pads were virtually untouched, the front tyres 7 out of 10 and the rear tyres 8 out of 10. I had the annual...

    Do I change tariff?

Panels should be 6.4kWp and an 8.2kWh battery.

    Do I change tariff?

All being well, we should be having a roof full of solar panels, home battery & hot water solar diverter fitted next week. In addition we currently have an MG ZS EV. I was on a reasonably cheap energy tariff with EDF until the end of June (hoping to have had my system installed by then) but am...

    Fully Charged 2022

Went to Fully Charged in Farnborough today (Friday). The queue to get in was as bad as last year. We joined the end of the traffic queue at around 10:00 am, it was 11:30 before we were in the show!!! I wanted to talk to someone about improving the use of energy in our home and booked a chat...

    Home Storage Battery

Pete, a very useful guide & set of links. Certainly a very good place to start. Cheers, David

    Home Storage Battery

I was mainly concerned about the temperature variations of mounting either in the loft, or outside. I’m aware that PVs don’t work that well in a loft,!!😁😁😁😁

    Home Storage Battery

Getting seriously interested in the whole PV / battery situation and hope to be having some discussions at Fully Charged in a couple of months. Quick question for those in the know. Does the equipment have to be sited indoors? Can it be mounted outside or in the loft?

Fully charged show at Farnborough part1

I was there on Friday and as you say, the traffic getting in was an absolute nightmare. The show opened at 10:00 and I hit the back of the queue at around 10:15. It took me another hour to do the last mile into the car park!!! However, I do think it was worth it and really enjoyed the day. I...

    Weather decimates range

A final postscript to the story. Despite putting a £20 pre-authorisation on my credit card (which disappeared the following day), Shell Recharge have not actually billed me for the charge in Horsham. 10 days on now, so hopefully it won’t appear. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

    Weather decimates range

That’s a valid point. Alternatively, if the place we went to visit had destination chargers, then all would have been OK. Around 3 hours sat on a 7Kw unit would have sorted everything. As it is, the area we were in (Sussex) is pretty barren for all types of chargers.

    Weather decimates range

Probably the most sensible thing to do would have been to not go. However, we’d paid for tickets to an event and as a Yorkshireman there was no way I was giving them up!!! Other than that, I don’t think there are many things I would have changed. The air con was only used as required to clear...

    Weather decimates range

With the recent good weather, I've been really happy with the economy from the ZS. Over the past 700 miles I've been averaging around 4.2 miles/Kwh. However, that changed on Friday. We were due to do a trip out to visit somewhere that was 59 miles away. No problem for the return journey I...
