    EV Charging in Scotland Unfair

Just a further update and to get back to my original post, I am now with Octopus Go, thanks Johnb80. It took a phone call. There are so many tariffs it’s quite confusing. Anyway, as I had a dual fuel supplier I had to first move both meters to Intelligent Octopus, after a few days once they’d...

    EV Charging in Scotland Unfair

Got it a bit more sorted today. Had to sign up to Intelligent Octopus first. In 2 weeks time once they have our smart meter readings we will be able to change to Octopus Go. Already saved £20 a month. Thanks for all your help.

    EV Charging in Scotland Unfair

Here is Octopus Go statement from the website when I try to sign up. Are the utility companies purposefully making it difficult? Intelligent Octopus isn't ready for you yet, but it just got one step closer. You do not have a car or charger that is ready for Intelligent Octopus yet We're adding...

Thanks for this. I have a combined tariff for electricity & gas. This one is for electric tariff only I see, however it may be possible to switch to this and keep the gas with our current supplier.

Yes but I’m talking about cheaper charge at home deals that suppliers are not allowing some Scottish customers to sign up to.

    EV Charging in Scotland Unfair

I live in Aberdeenshire. I have a home charger but our current tariff is 32p per kWh. None of the utility companies will offer cheaper tariffs. There are 2 EVs in our family a ZS and an MG5. We currently charge at our local library. From 8pm-8am it’s 24p per kWh and 47p at other times. How badly...

    ChargePlace Scotland overstay fees

Yes I’m not disputing that I overstayed. I’m complaining to them that you can’t get enough charge on an AC charger in an hour for it to be worthwhile using. The DC charger didn’t work after 3 attempts to connect so I put it on the AC for 1 hour 20 mins. As Gadget Geek suggests the overstay fee...

    ChargePlace Scotland overstay fees

Thanks. I’ll try this. Still don’t know who owns the charger yet. Scots law a bit different from English, Welsh so maybe something there too.

    ChargePlace Scotland overstay fees

It doesn’t seem as if you can. You stay over an hour your guilty £30 fine. Invoiced to you at the end of the month.

    ChargePlace Scotland overstay fees

This is their latest response. Thank you for getting back to us. Although I can sympathise with your situation we are not at liberty to refund or waive any charges incurred. The owners of the unit are the arbiters for their fees & overstay charges that they place on their machines...

    ChargePlace Scotland overstay fees

The £30 overstay charge was immediately added on the day to my ChargePlace Scotland account. Nice arrangement if you are the charger owners. Yes Gadget Geek I know I’m screwed. Own fault. There was a sticker on the charger. I just thought I might get away with being on the AC but no. Because...

    ChargePlace Scotland overstay fees

I recently had a £30 overstay fee applied to my account for being plugged into an AC charger for over an hour. Here is my email and response from them. Subject: Appeal against over limit charge Message: I appeal for you to repeal the overlimit charge of £30 applied to my account for overstaying...

Yeah the headlights suck. I upgraded the bulbs to Halfords 150% more light. Big improvement for not much bucks.
