    Android Auto issues

On my car (zsev) and phone(Redmi) if I plug the phone in before starting the car, I have this problem. The solution is to start the car first before plugging in the phone or to unplug the USB cable for a few seconds then plug back in

Is it the fan or a/c that reduces range

The fan uses very little power, although as you have noticed, the way the GOM is set up, it's the turning of the fan on that shows the decrease in range. Once the fan is on, using the heater uses the most power (as noticed by the extra current drawn), even though there is no additional...

    MG EV ZS

I assume that you are talking about a type 2 pod point charger? If so, it will charge at about 6.5kW and will add about 25 miles per hour of charging.

No longer able to charge my car at home

The Gen 1 ZS EV does not like any noise on the mains. Due you have internet over the mains (powerline etc) or even a Sky Q box? If so, disconnect these and try again.

    Car doesn't charge to speed

You will not be able to charge at 120KW in the ZS EV. The highest I've seen in my LR is 89KW, at a very low state of charge and high temperature. Both affect the charge rate. The SR charges slower than the LR.

Driving ZSEV LR in Europe. A bad idea? Advice please!

I'm planning on driving to Southern Italy in September / October and return home before I need winter tyres. Tesla or Ionity membership should make it not too expensive.

iSmart not working for MG ZS [SOLVED]

It may be the MG server but it may be where the car is parked. Connection to the car appears to be quite data intensive and if the car is parked in an area with a poor mobile signal, it will not connect. In rural Devon, I've been caught out by this a few times.

    Rapid Charging

The only times I have to select 'start charging' at a public charging point is if I have forgotten to turn off schedule charging, so the car is waiting until some time at night to start charging. Just ensure that schedule charging is turned off for it to start when you plug in the charging...

New MG ZS EV (Late 2019) owner - I have questions!

I did about 36,000 miles in the Mk 1 ZS and enjoyed every minute. No app and no way to limit the charge so you have to use time as your method of charging to a certain point. I used a granny and heavy duty timeswitch to charge only during cheap rate and to control how much percentage I was adding.

Rear shock spring failure LR Trophy

I was told recently by my MOT garage, that he now rejects about 25% of car he sees due to broken suspension. Its a sign of the times with all the potholes. Both front coil springs on my 4X4 fiat panda had to be replaced.

    Reduced in kMs

If the 265 and 249 figures are accurate (both measured when the battery is fully charged, trip counters reset and everything off) then you have a 6% degradation (94% SOH) in the 2 years. The warranty allows for a 30% degradation after 7 years. I was down to about 92% SOH after 3 years in my Mk1...

What are peoples experiences when using a granny charger?

Any chance you have data over the mains in your house, or a neighbouring house. The data can affect the EVSE.

MK2 SR 5% Battery degrade after 6000 miles 1 yr old

My understanding is that the internal resistance of the HV battery is used by the manufacturer as a proxy for the SOH. The internal resistance increases as the battery degrades. It is measured using an AC signal and can be measured at any state of charge.

MK2 SR 5% Battery degrade after 6000 miles 1 yr old

Is the SOH of the LFP SR Mk2 represented by a reduced range figures? My 2019 Mk1 NMC ZSEV had about 8.5% degradation and the fully charged, all trip counters reset, range was showing 163 * (1-0.085) = 149 miles. Sadly, this was also about the actual range that it was achieving

Help car not charging (either cable)

Have you tried using the granny charger previously? (you mention charging off solar but not sure if that was with the granny). Just trying to eliminate a faulty granny. As other have said, a trip to your neighbour would eliminate a local house problem. Have you any internet over mains added...

    Overtaking lights not extinguishing

I've also had this a couple of time during long (>3 hr) drives. Turning the car off and back on again resets mine. It's annoying at night time to have the 2 yellow lights on the wing mirrors but not so annoying when daylight. The first time it was raining and the 2nd time it was dry.

    Driving car away without key

Same circumstances for me in MK1 ZSEV during covid lockdown. Key was in my pocket, wife dropped me off at A&E, wife drove to hospital carpark, turned off car but could not restart it without the key. I had already been admitted into hospital but could not easily get key to wife due to covid...

Thinking of buying a MG ZS EV 2020/2021

I had the Mk1 ZSEV and did about 34,000 miles in it before swapping it for the Mk2 LR. It did everything I wanted from it and the main reason for the swap was simply for the additional range. All my 34,000 miles (and the 8,0000 miles since) were done charging with the supplied granny charger so...

MG ZS EV unlocked all night?

The car will lock if you lock it or remain unlocked if you don't lock it. The only auto lock is if the car is locked, you press a button on the remote to unlock it, but don't open a door, it will autolock after a short period.
