Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is a 2015 action-adventure stealth video game developed and published by Konami. Directed, written, and designed by Hideo Kojima (as his final work at Konami), it is the ninth installment in the Metal Gear franchise, following Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, a stand-alone prologue released the previous year. Set in 1984, nine years after the events of Ground Zeroes, the story follows mercenary leader Punished "Venom" Snake as he ventures into Soviet-occupied Afghanistan and the Angola–Zaire border region to exact revenge on those who destroyed his forces and came close to killing him during the climax of Ground Zeroes.
The game is played from a third-person perspective in an open world which can be explored either on foot or by modes of transport. Snake can use a wide repertoire of weapons and items and receive assistance from several AI companions, allowing the player to combat enemies either stealthily or directly. Enemy soldiers and resources found in the world can be transported to Snake's headquarters, allowing for its expansion and the development of further technology. The game includes two separate multiplayer modes, Metal Gear Online (also known as Metal Gear Online 3) and Forward Operating Bases (FOBs); the latter mode allows players to develop FOBs, which can then be invaded by other players.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was released for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on September 1, 2015. It received critical acclaim, with praise for its gameplay, open world, graphics, themes, and performances. Its narrative and certain changes to the series formula divided critics, while the appearance of the character Quiet drew criticism. The game's repeated missions, ending, and evidence of removed content led some to label it unfinished. The Phantom Pain shipped 6 million units by December 2015. It received several awards and is considered to be one of the greatest stealth games of all time. Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Experience, a bundle that includes both The Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes, along with all additional content for both games, was released in October 2016.

New Android phone for Wireless Charging

I currently have an Android phone that's a little basic, and I am thinking of upgrading to something more powerful that also supports wireless charging. I was looking at the Honour 400 Pro; however, this phone has quite a pronounced camera hump, and I was wondering if that would prevent wireless...

    Wheel nuts

Call me daft but I've removed the locking wheel bolts and put the original bolts back. Being new and before the winter corrosion set in I figured they'd come off ok. Reason is I don't want a corroded bolt on a black, wet cold night (puncture) and being told the head has stripped as the bolt was...

    Front panel strength.

Hi ho merry christmas. Well walking up to the car the other night tripped on the curb. Fell face first and shoulder onto the front panel with a right wack. So once I'd wiped the blood away etc I hobbled back out of the house to inspect the S5. Joy of joy not a mark or dent. Three cheers for MG...

    New S5 Owner checking in

Just thought I'd check on on this thread. My new S5 Trophy LR was delivered earlier today, my first foray into electric cars. I left it charging at work and popped back earlier, it was nicely charged to 100%, my 25 mile trip home has reduced that to 87% (not sure if that's to be expected or...

Charging with Intelligent Octopus Go - 5% Short

I use intelligent Octopus Go for my charging, with a Zappi charger. The way it works is that you tell Octopus what charger you have and what car you have when setting it up. To charge, you can plug in any time of day and you say you want it to add X% charge by a certain time, and Octopus...

Dashcam doesn't start up after a short rest

I had my dashcam professionally fitted, so please don't ask any questions about which line or fuse it's attached to. If I get into the car in a normal scenario (first thing in the morning, for example) it just starts, and it just works. But if I switch the car off, go into a shop, do a little...

    Straight line stability

I see a couple of reviews and a number of them are mentioning poor stability with side and head wind. How do you rate straight line stability of the S5, e.g. compared to the MG4 (if you had one)? Better, equal, worse?

    Three Months In An S5

So I've had my S5 Trophy Looking Range for three months now. Have to say, I'm pretty disappointed overall. There's just so many wee niggles. Wee cost saving annoyances. The non automatic window closing for instance. Or the lack of a light on the vanity mirror under the visor. Then there's the...

    Passenger window failure

I wound the front passenger window down as I set off to clear the window yesterday morning and it wouldn't wind back up again. Neither switch would work. The fix was to stop the car, get out and lock it before getting back in and trying again. It worked and has continued to do so ever since...

    Locking Driver Seat Belt

I bought an MG5 EV six months ago and absolutely LOVE it with one major caveat!!! The drivers seatbelt constantly will not release. I try every angle and combination of "pulling" techniques to release it so I can drive. It is driving us absolutely crazy. It will randomly work once or twice...
