I was aiming to arrive home last week with around 3% battery, but the wind was against me and when the car hit 0% battery on the outskirts of my home city, with 3 miles to go I decided to go just a 0.5 mile further and do a short charge at Morrisons. It's the first time I've had range anxiety for 3 years!
Has any one tested how far you can go when you hit 0%?

3% aim is a bit tight for my liking!

Further than one would think if you look at cell voltages only.

Iirc @ 0% SoC the voltage is around 3.4V, however the cells can go as low as 2.8V?

The discharge curve is very steep at the lower end, therefore the BMS usually limits the battery current when cells hit 3V.

But any weak/degraded cell’s voltage will drop rapidly at this point and the car is liable to shut down completely to protect the battery…

You’re brave!

I get twitchy at 9% when the miles left switches from a number to - - -
