2025 HS PHEV Software Versions, Issues and Fixes

Thanks for that. After looking I see that the "Here" maps were Navteq and in the Uk it ends directing you to Navistore so I think it is all the same. My system reports Q32023 as well. I will try the 32G USB and see if it works.
One huge plus I have noticed since the dealer updated my software is that the Driver Distraction now stays off every time I start the vehicle; Fatigue is on but that is not a problem. Big result.
That's good to know... What version number do you have on the media unit now? Was this updated.. Do your star buttons work?

Yes, I got mine in May and it has V55 and I have had no issues with the car at all.....however, I noted that the iSmart app was telling me a load of rubbish i.e. the interior temp was -10 etc etc so after many messages to and from from MG Europe via the iSmart app they asked me to ask my dealer (MG Lincoln) to reset the "T-Box" which they did a couple of weeks ago. I booked for a Saturday morning and they did the reset, however the Technician then showed me his laptop and there were 12 or so outdated software modules within the car. He said they needed to book it in for a day. Yesterday the car went in and everything was updated, he said it took 5h - and the software V is still 55 by the way. I can also say the car is better in so far as the screens are faster and the wireless car play (I use an adapter) is almost instant now. I never had any issues with traffic signs, cruise or anything, and still don't appear to after yesterday.

The only thing they could not do is update the navigation map. I have tried with the USB but just get an error. MG Lincoln said the same thing and promised to get me a solution and call me, and so far I have no reason to doubt them, they have been very helpful. One thing I did read is that the USB needs to be 32Gig so for £6 I have ordered one to satisfy my curiosity.
IT is mad that the car appears to have support for OTA yet there are never any updates....feels so ancient having to get updates applied in dealers in 2025

Mine is now r62. I’ve also noticed that on the pull down menu to turn on the front radar there are now two new options DMS and ISA. iSA seems to be intelligent speed assist and I think DMS is to do with driver monitoring as it asks to to confirm if you want to turn it off. A few less buttons

anyone got any tips on using cruise control on the motorway - mine is still way overzealous when approaching a car in front it starts to auto slow down about 100 yards or more from the car in front - my hyundai tucson used to be about 30 yards or so before it started slowing. I've used the left hand button trigger to set the distance before detection to the minimum of 1 rather than pushing right and setting it to 2 - I'm guessing 1 means slow down when closer rather than using the one with 2 as the setting which means react even further away ? - just find this really frustrating, especially when cruising at about 75 on the motorway, and start approaching a car doing 65 in the inside lane. it starts braking way off - I just wish I could maybe get an audible warning and no auto braking if it is going to start slowing down so far away from the car in front.

My version is still 55 and all the start buttons work etc. Having used it for a few days I can say the whole use is better. Car Play connects within seconds and usually before I even get comfy and press start (I have a wireless dongle) and the infotainment is faster. Not having to turn off driver distraction is so good; jump in the car and drive off straight away. I note that some users have V62, but mine also has the additional option for front radar and I am on 55 !!

The service manager at Lincoln Mg told me they are working on fixes and the whole update thing, including the maps, is down to iSmart and how it works. Hmmmm, one would think this was checked prior to release. However I love the car and the EV range etc so really nothing major to complain about. Am test driving the IM6 next weekend.

Hi., I must admit I have not experienced this, but I do tend to drive in standard cruise only not the full ICA. The issue I have noticed is the front collision assist - it seems to come on rather close (not that I should or do get too close, but.....) but in traffic I dare not test it actually works.

@WardyMush - Really useful to get your feedback about you having had loads of updates/fixes, but still being on the R55 version. Great stuff! :)

It sounds like our collective general guess/assumption that this version (displayed on our central console) was related many of the the 'bugs' (e.g. the * programming one) was wrong
=> It seems that there are other firmware fixes that the MG garages have to do (which we can't see) which fix many/most of the bugs/problems that we've reported on this forum over the past year.

I'm pleased to report that I've got my car back and done a couple of nice big runs, and everything is working nicely. I have r62 software which fixes the steering wheel buttons, but they had to replace some "power control module" under warranty, and they had a bit of a problem programming it to the car - so in the end MG told them to re-program another module which then allowed them to program the new one. First one MG Gloucester have done, so hopefully anyone else it will be quicker!

I have to say though - the driver distraction warning has not gone off once - and I've tried to be distracted deliberately to the point that I've really had to keep my eyes on the road! It must still be working though as I yawned a couple of times and it warned me about not driving tired - so I think they've improved that warning sensitivity now. Very pleased.

I use mine a lot - especially now that it works again! I do have my distance set to 1 as that does feel like my normal distance for when I'd overtake. When you get used to it - you can sense just that little tiny slowdown before it puts the brakes on - if you start indicating at that point it doesn't do the slow down and you can just merge nicely.

It's still hard to get used to it slowing to a near stop in a full jam but carrying on if it doesn't stop though!

Also I like the fact that using cruise control enables Lane Keep Assist - so the steering wheel icon and the lanes in the radar graphic go blue (I'm sure it didn't do this before it had the power module replaced) which just makes the whole driving experience just a little easier. The notification to keep your hands on the wheel is less sensitive than the previous model which is nice.

Using the button to increment/decrement in 1 mph units instead of 5 mph on the old one is much better (you had to hold the button for a second or so to make it do 1mph units which made the whole thing a little tricky on the old model)
