2025 HS PHEV Software Versions, Issues and Fixes

@Bob A - If you still get that 'Service Vehicle Immediately' warning you can easily fix it yourself. It came after 9,000 miles for me too (specifically, it comes after 15,000 kilometres).
As for the programmable keys, mine were fixed by the garage upgrading the Infotainment from R46 to R62 (see my post Dec 5th above).

I'm loving my car too. It's 13-14 months old, and shows 73-75 miles after a full recharge (depending on how it's feeling), but you only get approx 60 real miles out of it. Nevertheless, really pleased I chose the car.
My sincere thanks for your reply.
I'll (nervously) give it a go.
You would think the service centre would be aware of such errors.
Like you, I do like my car. Hopefully this is just a minor hiccup.
Again my thanks.

Loving it so far.

My only negativity is towards the parking sensors needing a reverse gear selection to activate, even for the front ones.
We made one of the programmable star 🌟 buttons on the steering wheel, the 360 camera which is useful

At the dealership, I was told I'd be picking up the car with the latest software. Is it an R62?

I received my new car on Thursday last week, it’s come with USB-C ports front and rear and also Appleplay is now wireless. Included is a screenshot of software version but it looks like a whole new version is now out as my first three numbers seem to be different from others unless I’m missing something?

@Beng30 - Sounds great - well done! I guess there must have been a 'refresh' model released, with those new features.

Just to be clear, do you have an MG HS PHEV Trophy, that looks the same as the picture in my avatar?

Yeah heard of a few others on FB rolling out the factory with the updates so hopefully becomes more prevalent.
Mines a black 75 plate HS PHEV Trophy level.

Your vehicle is version MY25.5. You should have heated steering wheel. Do you have it?

Also, you have V2L. Could you share a video of the CarPlay pairing process?

No heated steering wheel or if there is I’ve not found the setting or way to turn it on.
Car play just required to pair through Bluetooth as normal and now when ever I get in it loads up automatically or I just tap CarPlay on the main screen and it loads.

It needs to be here.

Definitely not there I’m afraid.
Strange. Maybe it can be added in future updates. The owner of this image is a PHEV user with a heated steering wheel and wireless CarPlay. Currently, CarPlay is not working for him.

Maybe different markets have different specs. I’m in the UK and that picture is a left hand drive car not right.

Good to hear the software is continuing to be updated, hopefully the updates will feed though to earlier cars eventually.

I'm guessing that FOTA updates do occur (hence the now it works, now it doesn't) situation with the car but, as with most manufacturers' major software updates have to be carried out by a dealer.

The entertainment software level is currently R62 as updated by the excellent dealer in Banbury (Evans Halshaw) back in May 2025 to cure the previous speed limit recognition and loss of star keys software issues.

My HS PHEV Trophy has recently lost the ability to recognise the 'national speed limit' sign. This means it recognises everything from 20 - 50 mph but when going past a national speed limit sign, it remains at the last limit sign it recognised.

It first did it a couple of weeks ago, then it came back a for a few days and then it's stopped working.

No major trauma, I just switch off the feature before setting off along with a couple of other settings.

Now at 21000 miles in 14 months and still loving every drive.

Mine went in for first service last week & I was told software version & radio software would be updated.
On collection a couple of hours later, I was advised the ACC & Speed sign recognition issues had been cured & the car had a clean bill of health.
The missing features have indeed been restored but while I was killing time today, & going through the settings, I found software version R46 was still current.
I've asked the service dept who assure me that the system had been "flashed" to get everything updated & they were mystified as to why it was R46 not R62 showing.
It has been suggested that next time I'm passing (dealer is an hour away) they will re-flash it. I may have to make the trip sooner if the ACC & SSR stop working again...
Weird.
