I've seen mentions on the Internet that the new 2026 HS PHEVs can update software OTA. Is this true, or a figment of AI imagination?
Getting my dealer, MG Reading, to install updates on my MG4 is like getting blood out of a stone, so OTA would be preferable.

This from Gemini, but it doesn't show the source:

To perform an Over-the-Air (OTA) update on your 2026 MG HS PHEV, the process is designed to be largely automated through the MG iSMART system.
Here is the step-by-step breakdown of how to check for and install these updates:
1. The Automatic Notification
Most of the time, you won’t need to go looking for an update.
When MG pushes a new software version, a pop-up notification will appear on your central 12.3-inch touchscreen as soon as you start the car (provided you have a 4G/5G signal).
You can choose to "Update Now" or "Later.

Forget OTA – it’s never been available and probably never will be. At least not for the current models.
My wife drives a new Dacia Spring and has already received three updates in ten months – OTA right on our doorstep 😉

Honestly, although this once seemed impossible to me, I've been following SAIC's European service centers, and their OTA and OTA test servers have been open and running for the past few months. Before that, they were closed or only occasionally open. I don't know if this will come to HS models, but MG is working on it.
