I've seen mentions on the Internet that the new 2026 HS PHEVs can update software OTA. Is this true, or a figment of AI imagination?
Getting my dealer, MG Reading, to install updates on my MG4 is like getting blood out of a stone, so OTA would be preferable.
This from Gemini, but it doesn't show the source:
To perform an Over-the-Air (OTA) update on your 2026 MG HS PHEV, the process is designed to be largely automated through the MG iSMART system.
Here is the step-by-step breakdown of how to check for and install these updates:
1. The Automatic Notification
Most of the time, you won’t need to go looking for an update.
When MG pushes a new software version, a pop-up notification will appear on your central 12.3-inch touchscreen as soon as you start the car (provided you have a 4G/5G signal).
You can choose to "Update Now" or "Later.
