I did Caerphilly to London a few weeks ago. We did it with one charge at the Morrisons in Swindon and there are a few they're in case they're busy. I would try the one at the BP/shell garage at Coate. It wasn't working when we were there but apparently it does if you ring up Shell to ask them to turn it on!
I would advise against relying on Ecotricity as they are either not CCS or out of order.
