My MG ZV LR nearly two months old, today I saw small bit of paint missing at back, near to number plate and boot.
Absolutely no idea how this happened.
I cant recall anyone hitting the car.
Small.chunk of paint missing,

Could it be bad pain work ?

Please check the attached images of dent/ scratch

The damage looks confined to the rear bumper cover ?.
It appears from the pictures, that either the car has been backed into a post etc or somebody has swiped it with a glancing blow by another car.
There looks to be some white paint transfer on the bumper cover that could be removed, and some of the light scratches may polish out with some compound and a machine polisher.
But that large chipped area will need blending and painting for a perfect job.
A good local smart repair firm could handle it for you I am sure.

Rear bumpers in that area can take a bashing - during loading and parking etc. The good news is it’s plastic - so it won’t rust. I would personally touch it in with a touch up brush Paint and lacquer. You’ll see it but after a while you’ll stop noticing it. A smart repair will be better result but more expensive.

Definitely a car park dink. On your close up view, you can see the rough edge where the paint has been scraped off.

As it is on the horizontal, curved edge of the bumper that sticks out the most, it lookes to be from a scrape/collision.

Unless you are an expert or are willing to literally put in hours watching youtube videos and practising, I don't think a diy approach will work.

An autorepair shop will charge a fortune, wanting to replace the whole bumper or respray the whole bumper. The cheapest way is to use a mobile service. You'll need to send them pictures. They will give you a quote, come out to you and do the repair over an hour or two. Note that they will require an electric point to plug their extension lead into. With fibreglass type bumpers they will use some sort of magic fibrglass mix to build up and then smooth down for a perfect finish. They will colour match the paint and do an invisible repair.Something like ChipsAway Prices | The Cost of Car Body Repair

We have one in exactly the same place albeit not as deep as yours. The touch of pen covered it well. You can still see it if you really look but I’m happy with the pen for the few pounds it was rather than an expensive body shop bill 👍

I had a 30 cm very minor scratch which didn't go through the undercoat. I touched it up and did a bit of compounding. The specialist visiting companies quoted £200+. After a couple of months I don't even notice it. It depends on what you think is worth doing as next visit to a car park may cause similar damage

Where can you get these from?
Somewhere like this colours in stock black\gloss black\silver\carbon fibre

Or eBay Amazon AliExpress or some dealers also do them
