Hello all and thank you for all the help and advice that has been offered all very much appreciated for those who have read my posts you've probably guessed I'm getting on now, My previous vehicle was an Audi A3 Sport back I'd had it from new for 22 years and everything about it was straight forward 163000 on the clock when we said good bye I always thought it would be my last car
I never thought about EV but was sold straight away with the MG Zs but who would have guessed it could be so complicated but I absolutely love it! Anyway enough of my ramblings.........
Bottom right of pilot screen battery sign with ready above i green to it left circle made up of 2 red sections and 1 green with the number 3 in the middle what is it telling us?

Do you mean the regenerative braking (3 levels) indicator? The image is from the handbook - P190 in my case.

@RTB

I think that green is the highest regeneration, amber medium, and red lowest? But it’s feasible that it’s the other way round! It always reverts to the highest regeneration anyway, so that should make the identifying colour obvious.

Sorry - that wasn’t actually much use!!

Something I have often wondered is whether the brake light come on while slowing with regenerations or only when the brakes pedal is pressed?

I often drive on the freeway using cruise control and rarely need to apply the brakes and wonder if those following me are warned of my slowing.

Brake lights work the same as when a combustion engine slows the car and only come on when you press the brake pedal.

Not the case for my (2023, bought 3/2024), Portuguese ZS EV LR. I checked by driving at night and observing the brake lights in the rear view mirror when using regen braking but not the brake pedal. The brake lights do come on when using regen (in my car at least).

as soon as the regen starts, brake lights come on. I drive on 3 and as soon as I lift the accelerator pedal (almost said "gas" pedal😅), brake lights come on
