I know there are many threads around Bluetooth and software updates etc. as ways to fix. I have my car booked in with MG in several weeks time, but just wanted to check whether I am missing something in the process.

I paired my phone (Samsung S25), no problem, next time I get in the car the phone doesn't connect. Open Bluetooth on my phone and MG is shown there, tap on it and it connect almost instantly. As soon as I get out the car and lock it, next time I get in I have to go through this again.

So it's not like I have to re-pair it's just like it doesn't auto-reconnect each time, I've checked options on my phone and can't see anywhere anything I have to tick/confirm for it to automatically connect.

Currently running SWI133-R32

As probably mentioned in a lot of the threads above, I too had Bluetooth issues with my phone (Pixel 7, Android 15 and 16) and also with various SW versions.
Mine would do as yours, but would connect for sometimes weeks and then just not. Only re-pairing would work. At one point I had my car as 7 different devices in my pairings list.
On one day I had to use the car a few times and it needed re-pairing each time, this was the 'last straw' so I called my MG dealer who got it booked in and updated it.

The best thing you can do is mention it when you take it in and they should apply any Bluetooth updates and along with anything else that relates to it

If you're having to do something in the phone to connect, then logic says it's the phone that's the problem. Check the permissions in the phone settings.

Hadn't thought about it from that end, I can simply delete the MG4 connecting on my BlueTooth list

The problem (as I understand it) is that the MG4 may not use the same Bluetooth MAC address every time; if the MAC changes then the phone sees that as a different connection.

So the problem is most likely not the phone but the software in the car. :)

PS - it seems to be more of a Trophy spec problem; I'm not aware of widespread BT issues with SE spec cars.
