Cant activate digital key for mg4 SE SR

I have had my mg4 SE for nearly a year now and I've never been able to get the app working. I was wondering if it is just the model I have that doesn't work with the app or am I missing something. My vehicle is bound to the app but I can't activate my digital key. When I bind in car it shows qr code but I have no I smart icon on the screen to connect further.

If the car is already bound to your iSmart account (not to the app) then you'll not get any QR code showing in the car.

Can you open the app and see details about your car? (e.g. range, state of charge etc.) If yes, what happens when you press on Digital Key Management?

Mine from Sept 22, and have the same software issues - the app is upto date, and sometimes it tells me its not bound. I can get it to work (unlock and lock), and it says that it has success in starting it (you need to have bluetooth enabled), but i cant get it to move off (something about smart key not detected, select manual gear?) - T.B.H. is more hassle than its worth - I just use the key in my pocket - and press the button on the door handles.

The car is bound to the app. But I can't get it to activate for the digital key. When I look on videos on YouTube the cars all have an ismart area where they register it. I just have the bind button. Once bound it doesn't let me do anything else. Here is a screenshot of the app

Have you tried standing next to the car and pull down on the app screen to force a refresh? That will trigger a Bluetooth connection.
Can you take screenshots of the key management screen and other parts of the app please?

I'm in bed at the minute I will try tomorrow. I was sat in the car before having a go just couldn't seem to get it to connect. Here's some more screenshots. When I press activate on the activation I get an error. I'm not so fussed about the keyless entry. But would like the option to control temp in car and also check the status of the battery.

... ok ? : likewise not too fussed on entry, but I can 'always'* control the car / get status

* - live in the middle of no where, so have poor mobile signal - but 90% of time it works.


... as far as I can work out the entry/exit/start uses bluetooth on your phone, where as everything else uses the mobile network (not sure which one though)

Have you tried this without using WiFi? Only asking because some networks block certain connections.
it seems something isn’t right. Maybe unbind the car from the account and create a brand new account and bind the car to that one.
