Carplay voice

Hi,
I got my orange trophy last night, only issue I can't figure out is with apple carplay. When I hold the voice button to activate Siri, the icon appears (large animated circle) but then immediately goes to a small animated circle and it will then not pick up my voice commands. I have tried keeping the button held down and its still the same. The actual voice commands work fine. Any help on how to fix this would be appreciated, thanks.

I use Android Auto and all I have to do is press and release the button, not hold it down. Not sure if it's the same for carplay.

Same process for carplay but my voice doesnt get detected.
