The change -Fahrenheit to centigrade is software we have had available. Unfortunately, the factory didn’t make it easy to just change from one to another etc.
Therefore, specialist equipment was required and all of the dealers within the UK shared a tool. MG Motor UK Ltd. are then responsible to send out the software, and we are then reliant on them being sent back in a timely fashion, and unfortunately, a lot of special tools have gone missing, causing the current delays that we have.
Rather than re-releasing this software, we have now told dealerships that the unit needs to be removed from the car and sent to our engineering offices. We will then complete the change and return the unit on the same day that we receive. So the process is:-
- You visit your MG Dealership
- They open a technical case with MG
- We give them full instructions regarding what they should do
- They can request a hire car for you to use whilst the unit is out of the car. At this time of year you would not be able to manage without heaters/blowers etc.
- Our engineer will reload the software and return the unit.
I trust that this will answer your questions, unfortunately, the unit needs to be sent to a non customer facing location and therefore I cannot offer you a visit to any particular site for this, it will need to be carried out by an MG Dealership. I will emphasise, any MG Dealership can carry out these actions.
