Not an MG
This is a new one for me. Heading on a long journey and the car is at 82%, thought I'd top it up to 100% for maximum miles. I'm using my home 7w charger and I keep getting Charging Aborted, I'm sure I've charged from around 80% before. Anyone else had this issue?

I usually have it scheduled for night charge but I've toggled off the schedule.

But what about the setting for maximum charge level? In both the car and the app you can specify exactly what that level should be. Have you set yours to 100%? I find that changing the setting in the iSMART app also "resets" the one on the car so 100% is achieved.

By the way, your forum profile says you are not driving an MG. This thread is about the MG S5, so is that the car you actually have? If it is, please update your profile!

In the head unit, under charging you have a slider to tell the car to charge to the percentage of charge you want.
If you don’t have this selected, it will just charge to the 80% charge level you have selected or it will stop when your off peak finishes.
I found this out last week when I wanted to conduct a 100% charge to do a balance cycle.
It charged okay, but only to 79% and then stopped.
The following charge, I selected the % of charge I wanted ( set to 100% ) and it worked fine !.
Don’t forget to switch it back after or it will do the same every time 👍

Agreed, but the same setting screen is also in the iSMART app, under "Charging Management" (scroll down the home page). Setting 100% here will also "reset" the car level, but the point about setting it back to 80% once the initial charge is completed is vital!

Might not be related, but we have found out (by mistake) that while using the iSmart app, if you click the "charging status bar" it actually can change the maximum level based on where you click it. We were charging the car and then after a few minutes I checked my charger's app and it turns out it was not charging because we changed the maximum to 60%.

Honestly - I found that requesting charging charges via the App on our previous ZS EV was never 100% successful.
The App would report the changes requested as successful but the car would think differently 😣.
I have seen similar with the S5.
I have learnt that conducting changes directly in the head unit never fails !.
As long as I get them right 🤣.
