Wow, that looks as if it's a couple of decades old.

That looks a lot like some animal have been attacking it !.
If I zoom in, it looks like there are evidence of light scratches marks around the affected areas, that could have could have been caused an animal / birds pecking at it.
Both seals are badly affected, not just the one.
Has this happened virtually over night, as surly you would have noticed it sooner.
Do you live by the coast by any chance, or have any problems with squirrels etc in your area ?.

Looks to me like Marder damage (marten in English. They are a big problem here in Germany and most insurance companies have cover for it.
They just love to eat some types of plastic and rubber. Here is an article on just what they can do to your car:-

I also have the same thing on my 2022 HS. I think mine has been caused by a mouse or rat. Quoted new seal at $91 AUS. I am a mechanic so will attempt to fit it myself. And also buy a mouse trap.
