Have an MG4 coming up to 12 months old, 16000 miles. It's developed a clunking noise from the rear passenger wheel when either accelerating (forward or reverse) or when applying the brakes to slow down. Intermittent so not all the time but enough that it is noticeable. Booked in to dealership in 3 weeks time. Any thoughts as to what it might be?

At a guess ... the callipers need stripped down and the guide pins regreased. The noise may well be the pads not applying/releasing properly.

Did you identify the issue? I have a very similar noise comming from rear right wheel.

Sorry for not concluding this thread with a response. After a visit to the MG dealer it was found to be lack of grease and the driveshaft. Seems the factories where the cars are assembled have a shortage of all things grease/lubrication that involves car parts.

Thanks for responding. In my case noise disappears when car is fully charged i.e. when regen braking is off. Can't really think why that might be the case if driveshaft is an issue.
