The MG4 manual suggests using Autohold at traffic lights and says the following on how to use it. I didn't realise pressing the brake again released autohold.
When the traffic light turns green,Stop, press P on rotary switch. Wait. Twiddle your thumbs or Pick your nose, if that's your thing.
Lights change, foot on brake, move rotary
switch to D, foot off brake, and off you go. Simple's. End of.![]()
That's too complicated for me, I'd probably put it into reverse by mistake.
When the traffic light turns green,
all the cars behind start honking . . . .
That's useful info, I didn't know it did that.If you sit in Autohold longer than the car likes, it swaps to Parking brake anyway.
Why would you do anything different from what you'd do with an ICE auto transmission?
after a couple of minutes or maybe 3 on auto hold the car applies park brake by it self.Yes the auto hold is great, but you can often be stuck at a set of traffic lights for 2 or 3 minutes, and for me, that's too long on auto hold, that's why I'd 'Park' just to be sure and safe.
