Cyberster Software Versions

Thanks for the replies. From what I understand I am going to summarise:

1. The highest level of entertainment system software anyone has in Uk ( Right seat steering wheel / Right Hand Drive) is R31.

2. At least one Cyberster in Spain has R32 entertainment system software.

3. At least one Cyberster in a country is Asia has an auto-brightness feature (from the linked video), but we don’t know the software version.

And one assumption:
No Cybersters in Europe or UK have the auto brightness function.

I am hoping to ensure that when the software is updated next week, that its features match yours.

Please comment if these conclusions are not correct.

I think this looks correct however you may also need to look at the full software ID as the bit at the beginning is different on some.

This makes me think it is not just a version it may be a different branch which could me we won’t get it.

It would be good to know the far east versions and if they have all the swishy unreal engine that is missing in the UK

The update as promised. The Cyberster GT went to the dealer in UK that sold it and they went to work on the software.

The software in the "system" tab before the update stated:
Entertainment system:
SWI134-29176-1100R28
Telecommunication Version:
1.04.001.z02
ISA Map Resource Version Information:
EU_CC_20240201

They spent about 3 hours on the car while I waited and I was told the update had failed a couple of times. There was a mention that the low battery warning had possibly caused it (as others have found). They put a charger on the 12v battery. Eventually the update was successful.

When I received the car back, I checked the software version and it is showing:
Entertainment System Version
SWI134-29176-1100R34
Telecommunication version
1.04.001.z02
ISA Map Resource Version Information
EU_CC_20240201

So it appears that version R34 is available in UK.

The differences I have noticed between Version R28 and R34 are these 2:
1. The navigation system does not freeze position while travelling faster than 55mph with Ded Reckoning switched on.
2. A new feature in MG Pilot called "MG Pilot Custom", which is a memory function for a chosen MG Pilot setup which can be recalled with a single button press.

Sadly, no auto brightness function.

Great news, thx for the info ;) I am still on R31 but really waiting for a real wireless Carplay (without having to use a dongle…).

The MG pilot custom save will be fantastic for me.

I’ve got to deselect two options every time I get in the car, if I can just swipe down and click that’ll be so much better.

Congratulations, now I know what to point out to the dealer's men and I have proof of the latest software version.
Question: did you also notice that the speaker system has been adjusted?
That now there is sound coming from 8 speakers? I'm curious.

Hello
I have just put my ear to each of the 8 speakers and can confirm that sound comes out of each one. I have not found a balance or fader setting yet, so I have not found a way to adjust the volume distribution, except by selection either "All Passengers", or "Driver" on the speaker choice.

I, however, did not check individually before, I asked the dealer to ensure all speakers were active and I took their word for it. Others have mentioned that a factory reset resolves the missing speaker sound in another thread.

Here is a way to test the speakers

Thanks for the link to the audio file, I have run it in the car and have found that the door speakers are active as surround speakers (along with the rear speakers), and that there was no apparent sound from the sub-woofer during that 5.1 surround test. I believe the sub woofer is emanating sound with other sources though.

So as far as I can tell, with this R34 software, all speakers appear to work, the sub woofer does not produce sound from a 5.1 test source and that the door speakers appear to be combined with the rear speakers in a 5.1 surround test.

Thanks for your detailed explanation. Since it is a Bose speaker system with 8 speakers, we have to speak of a 7.1 system here. Otherwise it is an upgraded stereo system. Here is a link to a 7.1 test sound. Hopefully you can get by. They will try to update the software again on Friday. I assume you did not receive a list of the components that were updated?

7.1 Speakertest (<LINK)

Great, thank you for the link, I couldn’t find a 8speaker test, I see now I should have looked for a 7.1.

I have run the 7.1 test in the Cyberster with R34 software and all speakers work, even the sub woofer on the LFE channel. One thing I did notice was that the door speakers and the rear speakers were both emanating sound with both the surround and the rear tests.

Anyway, good news is that it all seems to be surrounding the occupants with sound!

Great news! And now enjoy very nice driving and great music 🏎️🎶👍

In this mechanics menu you can check a number of subjects.
It is not the intention that you change things yourself.
You can also follow the updates here.
I would only have the dealer do the updates via a laptop, I would ignore the other two methods such as via OTA and USB stick.
The code for this screen is !Mg12345.

Today the dealer tried for the fourth time to install the latest software. Unfortunately it failed again. The reasons are unknown.
A ticket has now been created for MG Europe. We will wait and see.
