Did you buy your EV to Save The Planet?

I had the very early ZS (one of the first 200 available) then changed to the MG5 estate car when that came out. Brilliant car loved it.
Then looked at the MG 4, hated the shape, especially the crinkled rear end, and went back to Citroen eBerlingo (not for sleek, svelte looks obvs )

Going with my head a Berlingo would suit us better ..... but...... for me the MG4 is still a looker and does stick out in a car park , especially in orange.
My wife did choose , or at least spot it on the internet when she was looking , knowing next to nothing about cars she went purely on the colour . Our previous car was chosen because it had a massive glass roof . ( mistake ). We did test drive a top spec Kia e-niro , but even at secondhand price it came in at 10 000 euros over the MG.

It's interesting looking at what cars the contributors to this thread drive. Most of you have or have had an MG4.

Yep. First EV, first MG. Came from a 2011
Mercedes V6 Diesel coupe. So definitely a step up, Planet and Money saving wise.
But that's not why I bought it.

Can’t miss the Berlingo in a car park. It’s taller than most. I changed the radio antenna for a bright red bee sting. And when I press unlock on the key the whole car does a Christmas tree impression it’s so grateful I’ve returned to cherish it once more.

MG4 is my first EV as well, it is worth noting though that this thread originated in the MG4 subforum, so that may also explain why so many responses are from MG4 owners.

I don't think I'd want one as a daily driver, mine is a fair whether car, it's sleeping in the garage at the moment.

It worked ok for me, I averaged 20k a year for around 10 years in mine (4 of 5) without any issues.
