First MOT, major fail, both front suspension bushes

Just FYI, I had a nasty surprise from my first MOT. Failed, both front suspension bushes ‘debonded’. The (non-dealership) tester seemed surprised that this should happen after 22k miles.

MG will replace under warranty at the same time as the 3rd service, but I’d suggest others might ask for this to be checked carefully at both second and third service.

That's unfortunate.. In Germany we have something similar called "HU" (Haupt-Untersuchung). First one ist after 3 years and after that every 2 years, so I got mine in September - Curios to see how that goes. Were there any signs of this issue?

Interesting.. I had my 2nd inspection last September and they told me everything is fine. Maybe you just got unlucky with your unit.

well, there was the first sign, no suspension noises, if it had been an XPower and you said the built in vibrator had stopped working, would have been another warning sign ....

Do you have to pay for a second MOT over there? In South Australia, there are no vehicle inspections for rego, so I won't know if the dealer really checked them at each service, until the suspension arms start dragging on the road .....
