I have always found the foot rest too close to the driver. Following from a post I read I decided to remove it.

It feels lovely to have plenty of leg room now.

Two 8ml bolts and it came out very easy.
I put some sticky felt over the mount points. Time will tell if they hold but doing the job for now.

I removed mine too, you're left leg does nothing in an automatic car so why not have it stretched out and relaxed.

This is what I used in the above pictures to cover the holes. Worked well when cut to size.

Seeing this post again reminded me to post an update.

In the end, I decided to put the footrest back. I found my leg actually got more sore without it – probably because of the low seat height. In my old van, where I sat higher up, I never noticed this issue.

What I did do after putting it back was slide the seat back by about an inch. That small change seemed to make a noticeable difference in comfort.

LOL – not sure the passenger behind me would agree though!
