Hi all,

I came across this MG4 Standard 51 kWh. Looking at the photo's it is equipped with heated seats and a heating steering wheel. In my understanding, that's not common for the standard range at all.

Discussed this with the MG Dealer, and they told me it is very well posible to have the standard range in combination with heated seating and steering wheel.

My question is, have you seen this before?

Maybe this is specific to colder markets? There are other differences as well (like UK cars not getting 3ph OBC for example or heatpumps).

Maybe they decided that NL buyers will want better heating on base models, so they added that in. And to simplify, they used luxury spec wheel with heated elements already inside.

D

And for our English readers, here it is in English!
Yes, this is original ;) Two years ago there was a shortage of MG4s. At that time, several Scandinavian MG4s were delivered in the Netherlands, and the Standard version from that region did have seat and steering wheel heating. That’s really a must for an EV.

Heating element ? Which gets you thinking . Would it be more cost effective to make all the steering wheels complete with the heating element and just not connect it both physically and with software for the base versions . Saves on having two stocking and logistic problems and easier to manufacture on one line without having to label each wheel to fit specific models . Otherwise there would have to be separate part numbers . Maybe someone has access to such info?
