I needed to carry some long articles from the glove box all the way into the booth.
But the front passenger seat does not move forward enough to pull the backside at level with the folded rear seat. Am I missing something? How does the front passenger go flat?

I had to carry a new rug, 230cm long just yesterday :)

I managed to instead recline the passenger seat, but was also surprised by the seat not folding flat forwards.

I wouldn't expect a front seat to fold flat forwards, but they usually fold quite flat backwards.

It doesn't go flat if folded backwards because it hits the folded rear back seat. The rails are about 10 cms short. Weird design fault.

Even if you move the seat (base) all the way forward? It is not flat, but it did help me transport a rug.

I suppose if you're carrying something so long that the end needs to go into the glovebox, that edge of the front seat would still be too high. 🤷‍♂️

PS - your photo answers my headrest question. :)

But now the package of the four doors are upwards in "launch position" .
It doesn't need much for the front chair to go forward to allow it to sink below the forward folded rear back seat. At least it would be horizontal.

I assume it's the same in your MG's?
Yes, I tried various ways earlier, I was really surprised how far (or how not very far) the front passenger seat actually went forward, there's easily enough room for it to go a further 6 inches or so, forward.
