Gear Selector Surround different on SE and Trophy

Only just noticed this one after browsing some MG4 stuff online.

The Trophy has 'MG Electric ____' writing on the Gear selector surround

The SE doesn't have anything as far as I can tell (well mine below doesn't)

That's a hell of a cost cutting exercise.
You would have thought if they're doing them for the Trophy it wouldn't make a massive difference in cost to do both models the same, rather than have 2 parts made.

Probably a bit like the old British Leyland. It depends which parts bin is nearest at the time

Strange if it's different between the two models when they cannot manage a different layout of the controls on the shelf for right hand drive. My guess is that it's more likely different suppliers.

I haven’t got my Trophy yet, but is it possible that the text was included on pre-production cars (so is in promo pictures) but was removed before production? Can anyone who has their Trophy confirm either way?

I wondered the same - maybe it was included on the press vehicles.

I've just checked on my Trophy, and it does have it - quite odd when you think about it

I suppose the other difference is that the pad on the Trophy supports wireless charging - maybe that's how they visually differentiate between the parts in the factory?

Quite possibly
probably comes as an assembled unit
rather than fitting the actual trim
