Hi Guys I'm new on here but not shy ;)
As I have had a lot of experience with driving and EV , charging EV faults and expensive electricity ( CCS )
I've seen it all . Since I have owned an EV the infrastructure has got much better and charging
More reliable. Not once in 150k have I ever had range anxiety close to running out !!! Often arrive at destinations with 2-4% left :)
I always charge up to 100% at home every night ( if home long enough ! ) sometimes I topped on rapids to make up the full charge after on off peak.
My charging is 45% home charge 40% CCS and 15% company 7kw type 2.
Many a time I have had charge cables locked in port ( manual release)
Battey fault ( disconnect 12volt battery for short periods)
But the Main problem and still can be a problem is contactless payments
I have 15 apps on phone aswell lol !
Contactless -- if your a high user of public charging you need minimal 2 cards
Most Ezv chargers are contactless as of 11/24 all public charging must offer contactless for simple charging. I have had it where both cards won't work
Poor mobile signal or low battery
Yes there are many other ways to pay.
I use zapmaps alot and tend to go for the 150Kw ccs points an normally there at more then 2 to 4 so no hanging around

So come on you shy EV owners whats been your problems in your EV ownership!!???

Fortunately problems have been few and far between since being totally EV since 2020. I think most problems are perceived rather than actual.
Planning was fairly important in my early EV days with limited range, by todays norm, of approx real world 130-140 in the original ZS EV and far less infrastructure than now.
Although chargers were fewer and farther between there were few EVs on the road and so even finding sole a charger there was a pretty good chance it would be free.
In contrast I am just about to set off for a long weekend based at Studley Castle a mere 137 mile each way jaunt and not even thinking about where or even whether I will need to charge to get home again - I will need to as we plan on trips around around the area while there, Stratford, Warwick etc but I'll sort that when needed.

I very seldom do a trip long enough to need public charging, and I know there are various apps to tell you where there are chargers etc. However, it really bugs me that signs for ‘services’ on roads don’t include EV charging.

I am in Suffolk for the weekend, and used the Electroverse app to plan a charging stop. I passed numerous signs showing that service areas had fuel, food, loos and even LPG. Why can’t they add EVSE’s, if they have them?

Some do, but even there they usually indicate an old Electric Highway site, now Gridserve. The newer installations often seem to be stealth. Tebay, on the other hand, has a big sign in a field a mile or two before the service station, advertising their chargers.
