Does the bms update explain the difference?

I don’t believe so as with the new BMS update the minute you plug in, give or take a few seconds the charging port will lock and the car chargers with or without the car being locked, similar to a rapid charge.
Mine will only charge when the car is locked..I suspect your is the same.
