Help! Charging cable stuck in MG5 EV

Any advice? I'm stuck at a public charging station as the cable won't release from the car no matter how many times I lock /unlock the car.

It's an MG5 EV

If in doubt, try pushing the cable quite firmly into the socket. If you've tried to pull it out while still locked, you might have wedged the locking pin in place. Then try locking the car and waiting a few minutes before unlocking it again.

It's OK saying take off the motor cover but won't you need a spanner and a flat bladed screwdriver ?

Only need a flat head screwdriver to remove the cover.

I found a multistorey car park with 4 free Pod point chargers, so removed the type2 cable from the frunk and connected up while we went through the town to an art exhibition followed by lunch and walk along the sea front. On returning to the car 6 hours later I stopped the charge unhooked the...
