I think you're probably right, but do dealers check for a salvage marker when undertaking servicing or repairs? I would suspect they won't as a matter of course. Do you have information that they actually do, or is it your opinion?
some years ago I bought a cat D hyundai i30, but when I took it to my local hyundai dealer for service they refused to service it and I had to sign a disclaimer before I could leave the dealership as the car had been repaired badly and required a new sub frame as the old one had been welded where cracked. damaged cars are hard to resell and only worth 50 to 75 % of retail
