Morning All!
Has anyone removed the running boards from the 2025 PHEV? Just wondering how easy it is to do. Are they just bolted on underneath?
I've not been underneath the car to take a look yet. I thought I'd ask on here first as I'm not as agile as I used to be.
TIA.

Yes indeed it was, it wasn't a problem for the dealership to remove them for me, at the end of the day they wanted the sale!!. As well as bolted on they are glued on as well don't ask me what type of glue is used ain't got a clue but on removal they did just fit into the boot and when I took them out I realised how bloody heavy they are.

I removed these for a friend on his 2025 PHEV and certainly did not see any glue. They simply bolt on. However you are then left with small patches of underbody and threaded holes without any sealant. You could just apply sealant to these areas but if you were planning to re-fit it would better to make some metal plates, then use the the original bolts to fix them over the unsealed area seal over those. The metal plates need to be rectangular in shape, not just a round washer. It's not as hard as it sounds if your a competent DIYer

MG do actually make these blanking plates as they are used on the SE variant which does noy have the running boards. However I have no idea if you can buy them.

I must admit i never gave it a thought about what the underneath would be left like, but rightly or wrongly (hopefully not the latter) I would assume that the service dept where i purchased it from would make it good following removal. Will call in some time and ask the question. Haven't had to drive with "flippers and a snorkel" YET.
