Infotainment homescreen on MG4 EV LR - why is it different from the one in the user manual, eg no navigation icon?

I've been trying to find the inbuilt sat nav for my (leased) MG4 EV LR, but my infotainment home screen does not give me the option of a Navigation button, even though the NaviManual and User Manual tell me this is where I can find it.
The manual says I will find it on the home screen but instead I have the AC, and no Navigation icon on the right hand side (see below)

So where can I find the onboard sat nav, if there's no icon for me to tap?

Agreed. A bit misleading. Very weird for a car to not have an onboard sat nav, especially when it means relying on an unstable Android Auto!

I knew I should have forked out more in the first place! :)

@Rah I have the same model of MG4 as you. I bought an Android AI box and connected it to the car to provide SatNav as well as other functions such as WiFi hotspot for the passengers. Think I paid about £140 for it, a lot cheaper than the difference in price between the SE and Trophy. Works reliably for me.

Thank you, that's really helpful :)

The main problem i find with the built in Sat Nav is that the blue bar is in the way of seeing what's coming up (i.e. roundabouts etc). The nav isn't that bad I don't think, but it's illogical that they have blocked the upcoming view by something that could have been put anywhere.

I agree that the nav isn’t bad perse, but it isn’t better than what’s on my phone, so there is no added value to using the built in sat nav. I could’ve worded that better.

I tried it once to see if the small drivers screen works well with directions, but it actually didn’t show directions at all, and that would’ve been the only advantage I could think of.

It should have shown directions ... but I think it is dependant on you scrolling the screen to show Navigation (rather than trip meters, tyre pressures etc.) - it won't automatically switch to that screen when nav is active (as far as I know).

I know, the screen was the same as it is when you don’t have the navigation set to anything. So it didn’t work even though it should, I never bothered trying again, CarPlay works fine so why waste time on the build in stuff

to be fair, the onboard satnav is pretty shite, and getting updates to it seems to be a mystical black art, I have the Trophy, and use Waze for my navigation via AA on a wireless dongle
